Zafiro Tropic 

Check-In: Smooth and informative. All necessary information was clearly explained and provided on a hotel info card. The Zafiro app was especially helpful, including everything from towel change days, AI (All-Inclusive) drinks, entertainment schedules, and meal times. Guests receive wristbands that open room doors and are scanned for meals, drinks, ice cream, and snacks. Note: The hotel is cashless, like many places now. Reception is open 24 hours. The staff are friendly, attentive, and incredibly helpful especially Tomeu. I cannot thank them enough for going above and beyond to arrange a wheelchair for my mum, who injured herself at the airport. This thoughtful gesture allowed her to get out and about and enjoy her holiday – thank you! Rooms: Spotlessly clean on arrival, and this standard was maintained throughout our stay (note: cleaning is not scheduled on Sundays and Wednesdays). I saw cleaners deep cleaning rooms between guests — very impressive. The kitchenette was well-equipped with washing-up liquid, a tea towel, cooking pans, utensils, plates, cups, glasses, and cutlery – everything needed for self-catering. A large bottle of water was also provided in the fridge – thank you! Bathrooms were stocked with pure white towels for each guest, soap, shower gel, and shampoo. The balcony had a drying rack, which was great for wet swimwear and towels. Towels can be changed on cleaning days if left in the shower. The beds were comfortable with ample pillows, and all bedding was immaculate. A large TV with British channels was available, although we were too busy to use it. There was also plenty of storage space. Our rooms overlooked both the front and the pool side of the hotel – quiet and pleasant, with no disturbance from entertainment or traffic. Hotel & Grounds: Kept spotlessly clean all week. Supermarket: Well-stocked with everything needed for self-catering. Additional supermarkets are within walking distance. Pools: Clean and well-maintained. We stayed during peak season, but it didn’t impact our enjoyment. My boys loved the giant wet bubble and the main pool. I enjoyed the adults-only pool, perfect for swimming lengths. The splash pool was clearly a hit with families with younger children. Huge credit to the lifeguards – always alert, friendly, and professional. They managed to keep everyone safe and happy, even when dealing with difficult guests who challenged them over sunbed etiquette. Lifeguards placed signs on unattended loungers and removed towels when necessary. Their calm and professional manner was commendable. Activities: My boys loved the tennis and multi-sports pitch (book free at reception), as well as the mini golf and volleyball. The outdoor pool table (2 x 1 euro) was a hit all week. The kids’ club staff were amazing – working hard to keep the children entertained from mid-morning to late at night, giving parents a much-needed break. Bars: Both the pool and lounge bars were efficiently run, even during busy periods. Drinks included Coke, Fanta lemon and orange, Sprite, water, and a wide variety of alcoholic drinks and cocktails. The app lists everything available, including what's not included in the AI package. Shout-out to Deborah, Cris, and our friend "San Miguel" – we don’t know your name, but if you’re reading this, you’ll know who you are! Restaurant: With a mix of plain eaters, food allergies, and foodies in our family, the restaurant impressed us all. Breakfast: Nothing was missing. Lunch & Dinner: An incredible variety of food, with show cooking for fresh meat and fish prepared to your preference. Desserts: No words – what a display! I was particularly impressed with how my food allergies (gluten, dairy, mushroom) were catered for. Well done to the catering team, especially Joane, Agueda (who spoke excellent English), and of course, Chef Rafa. Entertainment: A relaxing way to end the evening. Staff kept the drinks flowing and handed out bowls of snacks (much appreciated by my dad and husband!). Each night featured a different show — our favourite was the Star Man show. We also loved the nightly Kahoot quiz as a family. The entertainment team did a great job keeping the evenings fun and lively. Management & Staff: A huge well done to hotel manager Pep. All staff seemed genuinely happy in their work, greeting guests and each other warmly. Regardless of their role, everyone worked hard and pitched in. I’ve never seen such a positive team atmosphere anywhere else. Beach: Only a 5-minute walk away – clean and safe for kids, with accessible entry for wheelchairs or guests with limited mobility. Sun loungers, umbrellas, and safe boxes available for hire. The beach itself is beautiful – wide, sandy, and spacious. A beach shop nearby sells buckets, spades, and inflatables. The new beach café has toilets, and there are beach showers a few steps away. The sea remains shallow for a while, making it great for inflatables. We hired a pedalo with a slide (€20/hr) and also saw speedboat trips available. Nearby, Wind Pirates (close to the marina) offers paddleboards, kayaks, water bikes, sailing boats, foil boards, and catamarans. Google "Wind Pirates Alcudia" for more info. Evenings After Dinner: We enjoyed walks along the beach – feeding fish, playing bat and ball and football. The sunset provided fantastic photo opportunities with palm trees in the background. The marina was lively, with bars, restaurants, and stalls selling local crafts. Shops are open late, offering gifts and football shirts. We always felt incredibly safe when out and about. Old Alcudia: A beautiful traditional Spanish town, just a short walk or taxi ride away (reception can arrange). You can also take a horse-drawn or electric cart from Alcudia. Market days are Sunday and Tuesday. Don’t miss visiting the church or walking along the old city walls. Excursions can be booked via reps or local providers (there’s an operator’s office nearby). Car and bike hire are also readily available. Final Thoughts: This was our 4th visit to Zafiro Tropic – thank you for the lovely bottle of wine in our room! We've visited many 4-star hotels in Majorca, but this one is by far our favourite. A fantastic family hotel, ideally suited for families who prefer an environment without loud and inebriated guests. We’ll see you all next year – my husband is especially keen to make use of the bike hire and cycle station.
