Nice campsite with sheltered cabin  Lovely helpful staff. Restaurant good and prices reasonable. Near great beach ( 10 mins walk). Shop on site has   basic items and has a pleasant operator. Only drawback is infrequent and, at times, unreliable bus service from Sardinian bus company ARST. Esp in direction of Olbia

I travelled solo with two kids and stayed in one of the caravan for 10 nights.
This was one of the most clean campsite I ever seen, also very eco friendly as they have solar panels and recycling bin well disposed all over the campsite.
The caravan was lovely , also very clean ( it is a caravan not a 5 star hotel suite so if you go with that in mind you will be satisfied, my two kids loved the experience). The little kitchen patio was so nice everything word wonderfully I loved cooking outside while my teen and todler could play around me.
As a single parent with a teen and todler we felt very safe , the camp is very kid friendly with minimum traffic as car have to be left at the car park. There is so much green and flowers despite the heat in Sardinia it was so nice to see and it really means there is a huge effort to keep it that way !
Now about the staff, the receptionist are so welcoming , always having a smile. My todler was a bit rusty after the flight and when I asked the receptionist help with numbers for the local tourist doctors she was so nice that called one for me and I could have a quick phone conversation to have some reassurance and indication of what medication to give him.
The best are the young team that work as animators in the camp. They always show so much energy , always with a smile even if working in 39° must be so hard they make it look easy. Every night they are there ready to entertain the kids with a really enjoyable disco . My todler loved it and my teen enjoyed the later time shows.
I personally had a chat with the staff and I would chose to go Tavolara camping again a 1000 times as all these very committed young people have so many dreams for their future career and I felt even happier knowing to contribute to their wages!
The restaurant staff also very qualified, pizza super nice and at a reasonable price.
The market got good price( compare to London prices) and the market owner with his wife they were a delight to chit chat with !
The beach is literally a natural swimming pool, surely it gets packed but with calm we were always able to find a spot reachable by foot but as I had my toddler we used the convenient shuttle service.
We are a mixed family and I was very happy to see a young black Italian working at the restaurant , I hope to see more diversity in Italy ♡

This is a small/medium campground with well-defined and separated pitches. Most pitches have shrubs and/or fences between them, and they feel very personal and private, as far as that is possible in a campground. Our pitch was enormous and even had its own sink with a few cupboards. We could really unpack, settle in and get comfortable. We also hired a fridge for our stay, which was delivered promptly and was very clean and spacious. There is a restaurant/bar which was a bit noisy on Friday and Saturday nights, but that’s to be expected and it all finished up around 11:30 - 12:00, so no problem for us. It’s about a 10 minute walk to the beach, or hop on a free shuttle (check times). There’s a small shop for the basics and only a few minutes’ drive to a couple of towns with shops, cafes, restaurants and larger ports/beaches. I can’t comment on activities/animation as it was low season and not a lot happening, but that’s exactly how we like it :-) A perfect stay.

We arrived early morning from the ferry and the pitch that had been reserved for us we didn't like very much. The girl on reception (I'm sorry I didn't get her name) found us another pitch and rang us on the beach to offer us this. Customer service the best ever, very impressed. There is a complimentary bus to an amazing beach but we walked as it is not that far. The restaurant is very good and reasonably priced. Had a great time.

Great low-key campsite ... with a family friendly atmosphere. A ver relaxing stay.

Bar is set in a shaded oasis... great cocktails, bières and the essential morning cappuccino's.

Shaded pitches work well, and all the amenities are kept clean and functional for a 3*campsite. Staff were super-friendly and helpful when we needed extra info...

The beach is a 9-10min walk - but is, like most Sardinian beaches,  simply stunning... 

We had an amazing time here! Very well organised and didn't really miss anything. The staff is very helpful and you feel relaxed and at home. The caravan with cozy veranda was so cute and kitchenette was well equipped.
We would definitely stay here again!

We are a family of three and have just returned from a fantastic holiday at the Tavolara campsite after 1 weeks stay in a 4 person mobile home at the end of August. Sardinia is a beautiful island and costa Smeralda is no acception. 

The Camping Tavolara is about 25 minutes drive from Olbia airport and it is an advantage to have a car as the campsite is a little isolated. There is a huge Auchan supermarket near the airport, but smaller supermarkets 5-10 minutes drive from the campsite. The shop on site has everything you need for camping but is a bit expensive. We never used the restaurant but the take out pizzas were delicious. There is a large grassy area in front of the bar for the kids to run around and a small childrens park near reception.

All the staff were very friendly, and everyone at reception spoke English, but the majority of campers were Italian (in fact I think I heard one other English voice during the week) so it does help to speak a little Italian. People in bars and shops and the camp shop too spoke less English, but I managed to get by no problem.

The beach nearby was busy but very beautiful and within 10 minutes walk. There is a free shuttle bus that goes back and forth to the beach most of the day, but like most other things in sardinia it stops from 1-3pm. Snack bars and ice-creams available on the beach.

The accomodation, 4 person static home, was nice, very clean, with a good shower, air con and comfy beds. Nice outdoor eating area. Small TV but never used it. Internet wifi was poor.

There are no cars on site but you can use the golf buggies to get your cases to and from the car park or to bring your shopping from the car after a big shop. Great idea and good fun driving those round site.

The only thing missing was a swimming pool, but we enjoyed the beach every day. The weather was fantastic. 34C and blue skies. Happy days.

Some people have complained about the noise from the entertainment at night but it never bothered us.

All in all we enjoyed our week at Tavolara but we drove to the south of the island for our second week and found a campsite with more facilities (amazing swimming pool)and better accomodation for the same price.

Mobile home for four people was a bit dated and cramped.  It had no shade so became 35 degrees inside in the afternoon, even with the air con on full blast (home #3).  So we couldnt be inside in the afternoon.  This was the biggest problem for us.  And for 100 euro a night, despite booking 9 months in advance, not great value.

Other than this, very good.

The restaurant is good value and very delicious.  The kids menu for 10 euro is amazing value for a primi/second/side and dessert.  The service was quite poor though, on each of the three visits there was some calamity and mistake.  The manager was great and waitresses friendly, but there seems to be some problem with the ordering/delivery process where mistakes creep in.

The entertainment staff were brilliant especially Matteo and Andre who always had a kind word for us and our kids.  The was football each night from 5-7pm which my son looked forward to every day.  However in August it was too crowded and difficult to get minutes on the pitch.

Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

There are no cars on site, just some electric carts, so it is very quiet and air is clean.

Bus stops outside to take you to airport or the towns and Auchan mega mall.

Diving centre on site does great snorkelling trip.

No swimming pool was a big shame, we dont like the beach so much.  There is a large lawn outside the bar for relaxing however.

99% of other guests were Italian.  I was told this is the case in high season, but in June/Sept there are more north europeans.  Very few staff speak english.

It is very loud at night from 10pm to 12 midnight.  Some nights the mobile home was shaking from the bass.  No chance to sleep until midnight.  Better to go to the outdoor theatre and partake in the entertainment which was sometimes amusing.  Maybe this is only offered in high season.

Internet was poor, it is free but patchy.  Cant connect from the mobile home.  Need to go to reception for decent connection, the bar has patchy connection.

The local beach is very good, has a good mix of snorkelling and sand.  Shuttle bus very fast and reliable.  There is a hut nr beach to store your stuff like parasol, inflatables, very safe nobody stole our stuff.  Extremely crowded in high season, was abused by a local for daring to pitch up close to her despite parasols all being bumper to bumper for 1km of beach.

I don't think I would go back here, especially not in high season.  We liked the village nearby Porto San Paulo, I would like to get an apartment there next time if I return.

Great place! 

Don’t stay here! Beaches are full with people, prices are ridiculous and campsite is filled to 120% of capacity with all problems that comes with that. Owners treat “guests” very badly.

Started with a long wait in front of the reception with an overworked (but friendly) receptionist. Complaining guests at the desk, aggressive atmosphere and eventually a spot at a non-shaded parking area for €80 (got a €10 discount, wow..).

Got stuck with the caravan at the parking. We did not know that the parking space would fill up with big cars leaving us no space to leave the campsite to catch the ferry. With the help of the staff (the guard calling me a “gatzo” to his colleague by phone), we got out, but it took 2 hours in the middle of the night.

They never should have put us there, because this was obvious to happen as the parking lot filled up with cars while we are away.

I barely got sleep before a days drive, a lot of damage on the caravan and no power so we could throw all of our groceries away. I complained and wanted my money back, but they only wanted to return the electricity costs and said that they gave proper service.

€90 euros for one night at a non-shaded spot on a bad camping with a lot of problems..
