91 reviewsWe recently spent a week at Smeraldo wellness resort with my parents. My father was born in Raiano and we frequently go to visit aunts/uncles and cousins. The hotel recently underwent a renovation and it is quite the place. Large yet welcoming. It was quiet when we were there but this worked to our advantage. Maria, the owner treated us like her family. Always around to greet us & inquire what we needed for the day. We stayed in the suites...tons of room, large bathrooms and comfortable hard beds. The best part about the rooms are the views. You look out onto the mountains of Abruzzi. We couldn't wait to draw the curtains in the mornings. It is a great area for exploring the mountains. we didn't have time for the hiking but maybe next time. We want to go back as the resort was just putting final touches on the wellness centre. Outdoor pool and separate facility for spa and exercise.We didn't eat there much as we were with family but one night Maria put together a lovely light dinner for us on very short notice...caprese salad, carpaccio plate & soup for me (that's all i could eat as I was suffering from too much gelato!). the hotel is equipped for big parties - large ballrooms are decorated very ultra modern. Maria even hunted down almond milk for us!! Go for the view and enjoy the lovely staff who will provide you with top notch service.
