Premier Inn Bridgend Central Hotel

We start here several times a year for business. It has a great location just off the M4 and easy parking. It is located next door to the McArthur Glen shopping village. Our latest visit was on the first weekend of February 2025. During our stay we received great service from all the staff, nothing was too much trouble. Jess was working during the evenings and was particularly helpful with a couple of issues that we had. We will definitely be back and I can recommend this Premiere Inn.

When looking for a place to stay, my search starts with the premier inn website…. Plenty of locations across the country, the standard of accommodation is what I have come to expect from Premier inn…

Great place to stay…

Been here before 2yrs ago but hotel has had a mini makeover. Place was looking lovely on arrival and newly refurbed rooms were quality. All staff during our stay were very nice. Very handy as a family to be so close to Shopping Village, Bus stops and cinema eating complex.. I’ll be back

Nice clean hotel throughout. Rooms a good size and clean.All the staff friendly and helpful at all times. Freshly cooked good quality full breakfast. Good choice of food items in the continental breakfast. Hotel ideally situated for outlet village.

This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in. The staff are so friendly and welcoming.  They cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable. The rooms are clean and well maintained. The breakfast is freshly cooked and plentiful. Well located a short distance from j36 on the M4. Also right next door to McAuthur Glen Shopping Centre. 

We always stay here when visiting family in the area. Location is perfect as we like to go shopping at the same time. The hotel has had a refurb and looks great. Room was perfect. staff as always polite and helpful with one remembering us from a previos visit which was nice. Will be back again.

We stayed at the Premier Inn on a Friday night, whilst visiting relatives nearby. We chose a premium room as it wasn’t that much more expensive, but gave a bit more of a Premier touch. 

Easy enough to find, right next to the designer outlet, ample parking, quick and easy check in.

The room was as expected, clean, comfortable, extras like the coffee machine. Not sure the shower lives up to the “rainfall” standard quoted though. 

We opted to sleep in late, rather than get the breakfast at the hotel. This meant we tried the Harvester next door for breakfast as they serve later than the hotel. This turned out to be a mistake as they were severely understaffed, resulting in a poor experience (all subject to a different review).

All in all, if you’ve got a need to be in the area it’s not a bad hotel.

Such a great hotel for the price we paid , the room was spotless with a very comfy bed and very friendly helpful staff.There was a bus stop nearby where we caught the bud too town to eat . We will definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile and felt welcomed. The lass on reception was helpful and could do nothing but make us feel a valued customer. 
The room was very clean and the bedding was exceptional even a couple of extra pillows ready to go. Bathroom was clean and well serviced so obviously a high standard is set within the room staff.  Extra tea, coffee etc. was readily available at reception so grab extra before you head up to the room if you are a tea and coffee monster.

The four stars I have given was because of the breakfast the next morning. Unfortunately it let the hotel down slightly. The reason is simple not enough staff to cope with the number of guests they had on the day we stayed. The chef was trying her hardest to put out plates as quick as she could and due to this the standard dropped. Slightly overcooked bacon and under cooked mushrooms spoiled the meal, but no fault falls on her as I have already said she was working flat out to cover a heck of a lot of orders. 
As for the table service, the lady working - Sharron I believe her name is, was absolutely fantastic. She was working flat out on her own to cover every table while also keeping the stocks of bread, juices etc. going and greeting guests at the entrance.  She was clearly over stretched and you could see she needed help right across the board, try as hard as she could. I spoke with reception and they told me that they were not permitted to help out at this busy time which I find disgusting as there were 3 of them sat there. To have only one chef and one person running the restaurant on a busy Sunday morning is a failing on the management and needs to be addressed as soon as possible. As I have already said Sharron was the star of the hotel and staff like this need supporting not left to deal with a busy restaurant on their own, please sort this out and stop taking her for granted.

There is a restaurant right beside the hotel but be advised this is extremely busy and you need to book in advance if you wish an evening meal. Failing that there are the normal fast food outlets nearby in the retail park within walking distance.

We unfortunately had a family funeral to attend, we decided to book a Premier Inn as we feel they are excellent value. We originally tried to book Port Talbot, halfway through the booking I was thrown out of the booking site, then tried again only to fine no rooms available. We then decided Bridgend would be close enough, I’m so pleased we booked this one, all staff were excellent, obviously have been trained well. We booked 2 accessible rooms, both were absolutely fine. We ate both nights in the restaurant again very satisfied with staff, food and ambiance, excellent value. Overall a very comfortable stay.

The only downside was that the lift was out of order, and we were on the 3rd floor. 
Otherwise, it would've been 5 stars.
