Palm Beach Nilaveli Hotel

The other reviews will tell you what you need to know about the property. It is a relaxed, quiet place located directly on a nice beach. There is some noise due to dogs fighting at night but I'm not sure there is a place in Sri Lanka where you won't experience that. As pointed out in another review there is a LOT of plastic strewn on the beach but as tourists, we are a huge part of the problem. I brought a small reusable bag with me and saved an entire trip's worth if single-use plastic bags from getting out of the shops. The best part of my stay was the dog they keep on the property. I spent part of the afternoon playing around with him on the beach. Walking back to the property after dark a dog from another property came after me and I had to use my bag to keep us separate. I probably would have been bitten without the bag. Who comes tearing down the laneway to my defence? The dog from Nilaveli. Enjoy your stay. Be nice to the dog.
