Kenwick Wood Lodges

Just returned from a 2 night break at Kenwick Lodges and have to say had a fab time the lodge was spotless very clean they even rang to say it was ready for 2pm. Lovely walks with the dog and a nice chilled few days away. Would recommend Hunters Chippy which is nearby if you fancy a take away.

An unbelievable experience in the most relaxed countryside setting with someone really special. Lodges had everything and have come back so relaxed and refreshed. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you Kenwick

We have left checked out of lodge e06 kinder spa where we have just spent the last 4 nights. My partner booked this for my 30th and we went with our 5yr old. The cabin looks small from the outside but it was lovely and very spacious inside. The welcome pack was a nice touch as I never pack bin bags and washing liquid etc so it came in handy. The private hot tub was amazing, perfect temperature at all times meaning we could enjoy while it was 4degrees outside and it was visited by the maintenance guy daily. The kinder spa kids bedroom is amazing, very magical and the child sized en-suite is fab! 
We visited the onsite pool once whilst here and it was lovely, gorgeous facilities. They have an ice room, sauna and steam room available free also but we didn't use this as we had our little one.
Cute little shop onsite with all the basics, they also have information on local walks and we did two of these while away. There is a large co-op in louth about 4mile away for any other bits.
We also visited the ranch steakhouse and grill which was amazing and strongly recommended.
Basically we had the best time and are sad that it is over. If we are visiting this part of the country again, we will be staying at kenwick.

Me and my partner stayed here for the first time for 2 nights 18th-20th Jan. Our lodge was gorgeous. Smart TV, DVD player, electric fire, kitchen with appliances and utensils, two bedrooms and two bathrooms and decking with table and chairs. The lodge was so cosy and very warm and the temperature was easy to adjust. The hot tub was lovely too and very private.
Louth is a 10 minute drive away and we went there on our first night and ate at an amazing restaraunt called The Ranch steakhouse. 
For our full day we booked a spa day at the hotel that is on sight. The pool and spa facilities were lovely and the massage treatment was incredible! The afternoon tea was great too. 
We will definitely be returning here in the future!

We’ve been using Kenwick Park Lodges for our pre Christmas family gathering for a few years now and it’s always amazing! The lodges are excellent, we stay in Retreat Lodge 4, loads of space and everything you could need. The pool is great, my only gripe is you can’t book before 11 if you’re staying in the lodges. It would be nice to be able to use the pool earlier.

Each year we have visited we always book Sunday lunch in the hotel. The hotel let us use one of their conference rooms as there are so many of us. The room is beautiful, always nicely set. This year was probably the best lunch we’ve had there, it was delicious! We had the added bonus of Santa being there this year, which we haven’t had before. Excellent service in the restaurant, the bar/restaurant manager is so friendly. My brother was with us and he has a daughter with cerebral palsy, she has to have her food blended. The hotel blended her Sunday lunch in individual pots, so she had all the flavours separately without it being like baby food. This is service above and beyond - thank you so much Kenwick Park! We’ll be back next year for the 4th time!

Came for a long weekend with family. Lovely clean lodge, surroundings were beautiful. Chap who came and cleaned hot tub very friendly. Even gave him a sweet lol. The hot tub was lovely. A very relaxing & chilled weekend,Would highly recommend staying here & hope to be back next year

We stayed at Kenwick Lodge park week beginning 19th September until the Friday.  We booked through hoseasons and booked ‘The Kinder lodge’. Easily signed posted when we arrived, check in was easy enough. The lodge was an modernly decorated and lovely and clean. It had everything we needed. Gated decking connect to the lodge which was good for letting the dog out and not having to worry about him running off. 

There was loads of dog walks directly on the site was a public footpath just over the golf course. We walked into town one day and drove to Skegness about 30 minutes away and walked along the beach. Many other forests around that you could drive or walk too. 

My partner used the gym facilities everyday and sometimes twice a day. We also used the swimming pool and spa everyday, which was easy enough we called a few days before arriving and booked in, but some days we did just turn up without booking and we were allowed in. Maybe the booking process is used more throughout the summer. The gym and spa facilities were fab especially after a long walk.

One small negative I could think of was that our neighbouring lodge had a hot tub and we could see them going in and out of it when we were sitting in the living room of our lodge. However this was easily sorted by closing our blinds and respecting their privacy. 

We will definitely be back Louth town was a lovely town, lots of independent shops. 

Hoping to book again for next year!

We booked a last minute stay at Kenwick Park Lodge and we were not disappointed. The check-in was straightforward and the location of the lodge was perfect overlooking the golf course and within an easy reach of the tennis court and leisure facilities. We had to do a little light cleaning, a few places were perhaps missed, but it was a pleasant surprise to receive a handy welcome pack with a few essential items. It meant that our items were surplus to requirements. The lodge itself provided ample space for three adults and two young children. The children enjoyed the freedom of the lodge both inside and outside. We enjoyed a woodland walk in Kenwick woods across the golf course, but didn't venture much further than a bridge. We also enjoyed a short trip to Louth and would highly recommended the fish and chip shop. We also spent time in Mablethorpe and Skegness, which was about a 30 minutes drive to both beaches. One of the evenings was concluded with a drink or two in the hotel bar. It was great to experience a local pink gin produced in Louth. We shall definitely look out for that again. Overall, a wonderful stay, we hope to return and was sad to be leaving, but as the saying goes all good things must come to an end.

Have to say jo Joanne who did my massage was amazing really lovely lady and very good at her job thsnk you jo ...lodges amazing clean just brilliant...afternoon tea awesome if I had to say out be scone bit dry but still awesome ...swimming sweat rooms top notch ...evening meal was very good and tasty we had different meals but all good only down point which still isn't bad was dessert ...so overall BRILLIANT  thank you all for a super job x

We stayed in Hazel Lodge Friday to Monday.  4 pm check in & 9.30 check out (a little early!)  No. 9 is in a prime position only a short walk from the hotel & leisure/spa
This is a 4 bedroom lodge with one double ensuit which is very spacious and comfortable.  There was a problem with drainage from the shower in this room which was attended by maintenance but unfortunately was still a problem.  As we had 3 bathrooms with showers we did overcome this problem.  The three twin rooms were all of a reasonable size.  Bathrooms are modern and plenty of towels were provided.
The kitchen /dining is large and very well equipped.  Lots of storage and plenty of pots/pans & cutlery.  Also a fabulous large dining table for gathering around.
The lounge is very comfortable with plenty of seating and lovely views over the golf course.  The electric heaters, individually controlled, are throughout the lodge and very quickly heat up, making it very comfortable. 
The Leisure Club is amazing, with lots of facilities.  Swimming does have to be booked in hour slots but this does mean that the pool is never too busy.
The family enjoyed our stay so much we may make it a yearly event.

Happy Dog

We go to Kenwick every year for a girls weekend because it's close by and a good price but still good for a break. We stay in an 8 birth with a hot tub. It is a little tight on space for all the stuff and suitcases but it's fine for a weekend. The beds are quite comfy. The furniture and fittings are looking a little tired and stained and could probably do with an update. The hot tub is reasonably private. 



Not a bad stay

We stayed in the Kinder Spa Lodge.
It was very clean and neat, a lovely size for the 2 of us. 
Some points about the lodge;
- The bathrooms are tiny. You really struggle to move around too much in the shower/bathroom as a whole.
- The doors to the shower only opens half way so is quite a small gap to squeeze in.
- Incredibly clean and tidy 

Some points about the area;
- There really isn’t much privacy. We had a lodge with a hot tub, however everyone could see you as they walked past/sat in their lodge. We were next to a lodge that if someone sat outside on the deck, they’d be looking straight at you and were very close. Even the cars driving past could see you. There is a fence but it’s not really facing the right way and everyone can see you regardless. You can also see straight into other peoples lodges.
- It’s actually quite noisy - constant cars etc driving past  as it’s right on a main road. 
- There is a little shop within the reception which is really handy - you could probably buy most meals/essentials in there.
- The spa/swimming pool was lovely - easy to book and a lovely clean space.
- The staff unfortunately seemed a little miserable. We saw around 4 staff members and each of them seemed like they did not want to be there, just overall miserable and gave the bare minimum however you don’t really speak to them often.

Overall it was a lovely break and we did thoroughly enjoy it, however i believe the main point that lets this place down is the lack of privacy. Just constantly being overlooked/watched etc puts us off when we are trying to relax in the hot tub.

The best and relaxing experience 

Spend four nights at the Landal Kenwick lodges for kids half term.  Stayed in a four bedroom three bathroom retreat lodge.  Four adults and three kids.  Lodge big, clean and comfy.  No hassle checking in, supposed to get access from 4pm but received a phone call at 1pm saying lodge available from 2pm.  unfortunately as it was a two hour drive away still got there just before 4pm.  All staff polite and helpful.  Only issue was the pool.  Due to the bad weather there really wasn’t much for the kids to do both in the park and travelling to places like Skegness was pointless so only had the pool.  In theory could only book for an hour but no hassle when staying longer.  The issue was the fact that the pool is divided in two so that adults could lane swim.  I lane swim daily at home and lane swimmers really didnt need that much space, especially as the most we saw use it was 6 swimmers and on one day only two people used it whilst all the kids/families were crammed in the other half.  The problem was made worse on the Thursday when 5 adult swimmers insisted in length swimming in the kids side of the pool complaining every time one of the kids got in their way.  When I suggested it would have been better if they swam in the lane swimming area I was rudely told they could swim where they like.  Think it would have been good to have a staff member periodically go into to the pool area and sort it out.  That was the only problem with the park.  Had it been better weather would have had a better time and probably wouldn’t have been quite so wound up about the pool.

We stayed for 3 nights in a Horncastle spa lodge. As other reviews have said it wasn’t a lodge it was a caravan but we looked past that. We were staying right in the woods so there was no Wi-Fi - even though this wasn’t an issue for us, we were unaware that it wouldn’t have Wi-Fi so definitely double check when booking if this is important for you. 
When checking in we were given some information sheets which stated the opening times of the lodge reception. These were completely wrong. We phoned at 4pm the day we checked in because the TV didn’t work and couldn’t get through. I decided to try the hotel reception and was promptly told that the lodge reception had closed for the day over an hour early… and the next day they were not open at all despite saying they would be open 9-5 on the information given at check in. 
We booked breakfast in the restaurant the first morning but didn’t go again as food was very average but staff were nice enough. 
Our TV finally got fixed the day before we left and the maintenance man was really helpful and friendly so that’s a positive. 
Staff at leisure centre were really lovely and the little cafe there was delightful. 
We were travelling with our 2 year old and as mentioned in other reviews there isn’t a lot for young kids but he loved running around the woods and swimming.

Caravan in the woods

Arrived early evening and had a key chucked at us. 
Asked for a second key for our party of eight. Told no, only one available. 

A welcome light would have been nice but our lodge was cold and dark. 

Previous lodger must have had a dog as the carpet had 3-4 suspect brown stains. 

Sleeps 8 but only 5 couch seats, although there's a thin cushion on the window sill. 

We were told that booking the pool was essential as it was very busy. Advised only 4 spaces left in our chosen session so left half our party at the lodge. 

Arrived to find the pool only had 5 or 6 other users. 

Pool heating system had failed two days ago and it was ice cold. There was no warning or notification of this until our youngest cannonballed and nearly went into shock. 

Upon leaving the receptionist advised us that the heating was indeed  fixed yesterday and the temp had infact gone up by two whole degrees in the last 24 hours. 

Despite repeated requests to go away we had a local cat attempt to make access to the lodge on a number of occasions, not sure if it was stray or belonged to another lodger, but we dare not open a window. 

No playpark or spaces for a kickabout on site, a little boring for kids. 

Lodge itself seems OK. Although please beware you will need to wash plates and glasses before use to remove stuck food and lipstick. 

Our Twin room has two beds one of which, must have been found in a skip as it clunked when you rolled over and you could feel every spring in the mattress. 

The bathroom had been given a cursory wipe down but not actually cleaned, and the shower door seals were loose meaning the shower ended up soaking the bathroom floor. 

Lack of lighting meant trips to the nearest bin were treacherous at best, whilst you can park your car 30ft from the lodge to unload your luggage, you must then park 100ft away, so less than ideal if you're unsteady on your feet, or if it's raining heavily. 

Overall. I'd say landal kenwick woods was not really suited for us. A bit of a disappointment really. We won't be returning. 

A lot to be desired

The bad bits:
Arrived at the lodge at 4:20 and it was not ready - check in was meant to be from 4 onwards!
We informed them in advance we would need a bed guard and promised to have it in the lodge ready - did not happen (not too much of an inconvenience as in the end we didn't need one)
Kitchen chair broke when one of us sat on it - could of been very dangerous but scraped through with only minor injury
During our last night the shower room leaked from the rain (it was a pretty bad storm though)
The good bits:
Swimming pool
Food in the hotel
Generally the lodge was nice and a good size

Overall pretty disappointing

There were 11 of us sharing 2 lodges for a Hen Weekend and it was the first time for many of us either staying or visiting Kenwick Park.  Kenwick Park is a lovely and peaceful area, bar and restaurant staff were lovely. Kit Kat, our instructor for axe throwing at Back to Bear was brilliant. However, Lodge 52 was a disappointment!! The ensuite toilet was blocked when we first arrived.  As there was no answer from the reception desk, i called the out of hours number. I left a message explaining the problem, leaving contact details. We recieved no call back leaving 6 of us sharing 1 toilet. This was the beginning of a number of issues with this lodge. 

1. No WiFi.  2. No welcome pack. 3. Tempermemtal cold water tap in ensuite, sometimes a drip of water came out, other times, it worked as normal. 4. Dirty shower head and dirty grouting in ensuite.  5. Faulty towel rail in ensuite. 6. No mirror in main bedroom. 7. All bedroom mattresses had springs coming through which affected sleep. The bride to be ended up sleeping on the sofa on the last night because the mattress was that bad!!  8. Fridge shelves broken and have been since 2023 after reading visitor book comments. There was also water in the bottom of the fridge and left over ice bags that had been in there for some time. 9. Light fittings in living room were hanging down exposing the wiring. 10. Outdoor decking had not been cleaned. 11. Faulty bannister on stairs to entrance, almost fell after trying to hold it going down the stairs. 12. No batteries in tv remote in main bedroom. 13. Many of the tv channels did not work. 14. Dishwasher was rusting. 15. Used soap bars in bathrooms. 16. Dirty pull cord for lighting in the bathroom. 17. Generally unclean and dated.

Considering the costing for the lodge (over £500 for 2 nights)  the number of issues is very disappointing.  It also appears from the visitor's book, when issues are raised, they are not rectified. 

Overall, Kenwick Park itself is lovely and we made sure the bride to be had a good time. However, the lodge was unfortunately, a huge let down which is such a shame as it could be amazing with some regular TLC.
