71 reviewsWe were met at the gate by the owner and shown our room and the property. Late October made it an inside stay but he gardens and terraces are very nice. Just too cold to enjoy. Not owner occupied after hours so doors need to be locked by the guests. A genuine antique building carefully restored but made modern for guests. A dream of the owner and result of his hard work. Good breakfast served by the owner and wife with a selection of tasty items. This is an out of the way town with little tourist infrastructure. We tried to find a place for evening meal and ended up with a bag of popcorn from the convenience story that was closing at 1930!! Really! Even the pizza place was closed. Only one real restaurant in town and we unfortunately found the back door which sure looked like a front door, sign and all. Had we wound our way around the narrow streets to find the front, we would have had a real meal. First time that has happened to these experienced travelers. I'd stay here any time I were in Alberone but it is unlikely to return given its semi-remote local and so many other easy to visit historical towns in Puglia and Italy overall. BTW, owner is also the mayor of Alberone!
