Hotel Camay

We booked this hotel with a half board plus package as we just did not wanted to worry where to eat each night and were a bit apprehensive at first. Upon arrival we were greeted by the father with a very warm and nice Italian welcome. Later on we met their son franco who speaks very good English and very good German. This is a truly family run business, mama and papa and the son and daughter. The hotel itself is located in a very nice street within a easy walk to the beach about 5 minutes. Once can see that they maintain the hotel well. The interior is clean and the bar with indoor and outdoor seating is great. The weakest point of the hotel are the rooms. They are very meticulous clean and have air con. The furnishing is very basic and old. For us it did not matter as were hardly ever in the room. The bathroom very functional but yet again clean. The overall cleanliness was superb. The balcony was nice and sizeable. The walls are very thin and one can hear all the sound from other rooms but again it did not disturb us. The Breakfast was superb, fresh fruits daily and specialities from the area and fresh cake, bread and everything one would want for a breakfast in abundance. Coffee was very tasty from a real coffee machine using coffee beans. Dinner was the highlight. A salad bar waited and was freshly prepared, some cheese and fruits. One could select from 4 different appetizers and 3 different dinners. They were wonderfully cooked and even by Italian standards qualify as outrages delicious. Wine, beer and mineral water were included. All cooked by the daughter and served by the son in an very friendly and attentive manner. My family and I totally enjoyed the stay and can only but recommend Hotel Camay it is a great place to stay and we will return. I also would like to mention a very good and strong wi fi free of charge. A espresso and a Grappa at the bar did us well every night after dinner and the prices are really very low. So go ahead and enjoy. Overall one could say the price and value relationship was outstanding and could not have been better.
