Hotel Antico Pastificio Sarubbi

This is a converted pasta factory lthough when you are inside you woudn't excpect it. The reception is vast and the dining area is vast and the rooms. They are also a bit plain but we assume this is because it is a wedding/conference destination where the decor can be personalised. It was built in 2007 and it is still in excellent condition with a super modern bathrrom and comfortable bedrooms. We ate here 2 nights - there is precious little alternative in the town - and the food was excellent. Well I have rated it excellent but the only complaint is that we rattled around in this huge place as the only guests staying and on one night the only ones eating. There is an interesting old area that is part of the dining room and were in here on one night. Instead of room numbers they have colours - lilac, red and gold etc. with decor to match the name. There is a bar in the grounds with beer at a very reasonble price 1 Euro a bottle! Stigliano is 'interesting' with little really to see, but we were watryside and it is a fabulous area for that. The SITA bus stops outside and as part of the change of use from a pasta factory there is a small supermarket underneath. This didn't create any problems in fact it was excellent for providing our picnic lunches.
