Headlands Hotel

Absolutely outstanding! Head and shoulders above the rest. It is so nice to visit a hotel that doesn't have the clinical, plastic feel that so many have adopted nowadays. Every hotel looks the same in cities but The Headlands in Llandudno keeps so much character! There's something different to look at on every wall and the hotel is saturated with history about Llandudno. We stayed in a room with so much character! The shape of the room was an octagon and we looked out across the evening lights of Llandudno as we fell to sleep. The hotel was clean, safe and operated well. The corridors were quiet and there was a lovely homely feel to the place, like you were staying amongst respectable guests. The positioning of the hotel has its pros and cons. The views are spectacular and it's just a short walk to the peak of the hill you're on, to look out across the pier and sea. However, being at the end of a cul-de-sac meant the parking was very limited. 4 spaces outside the hotel but very very slim, and 3 spaces behind the hotel. We had to play a little game of tetris to get one car out because 2 of the spaces are blocked in by the front 2 spaces. If you're reliant on your car, perhaps use the street to park (limited but possible). We didn't need our car so this was not a problem. If you're larger, then getting out of the car when parked can be tricky. If you were worried about getting scratches then don't park at the hotel as the access to the door is by walking past these cars. This was the only let down of the hotel (but not enough to spoil the trip!) We were so impressed by the lady running the hotel during the day. She was polite, friendly and kept the breakfast bookings moving smoothly. The options at breakfast wowed us! Locally sourced yoghurts in all flavours, fresh croissants, Nutella, jams and marmalade, fruit juices, fruits, nuts, cereal, toast and the option of a full cooked breakfast too! We were very, very impressed. All good ingredients. I think this hotel might be a trickier experience if you need reliable accessibility. I found the price for bank holiday weekend was extemely reasonable! For parking and breakfast included we were well aware of the bargain we had booked. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and if we ever come back, no question about it we'll stay here :-) thank you!
