excellent. great family room with plenty of space. very clean and comfortable and superb breakfast, which kept us going until tea time.  few toiletries in bathroom to use if needed.  We forgot shower gel so this was very handy. lovely views and although we didnt need it they also will do a packed lunch for small fee.  2nd night we saw a baby deer roaming in next doors garden. highly recomended and would definately use again.

Utter comfort with everything we could possibly have required already thought of and in place. By some margin the nicest breakfast out of all the great breakfasts we were served on the West Highland Way. 
Add in the comfortable transfer to and from Kingshouse and you have hosts who believe in providing excellent service

First class service from start to finish

We stayed as part of an organised tour (WHW). I concur 100% with the last review  written a few days ago. We were met at the door by the son, who appeared to be in PJ's at 3 in the afternoon. He gruffly told us to take off our shoes and told us we had to look at the room info and order the next days breakfast when we got to the room.   The whole house is full to bursting with trinkets, gadgets, figurines, frills and it all felt very claustrophobic. Beds were very soft and rooms small.  
On a plus - the breakfast spread was huge (almost too much) and bathrooms immaculate. 
The gnomes and statues in the garden (and elsewhere in the village were quite creepy).  I definitely didnt feel that the owners enjoyed any interaction with people - which is why i thought most people did this type of hospitality! Altogether quite odd and we couldn't wait to leave after one night.

Absolutely awful experience.

Arrived at 2:10pm with young son (walking the whw). We walked in (door open, no signs) to be greeted by the sight of the owner asleep in his office (door wide open). When he woke and saw us, there was no friendly greeting; instead we were met with fury for arriving before 3pm. It says in the confirmation email you mustn’t do so, apparently! (I had a print out of his confirmation - which I had had to chase at the time - and there is no mention of it. It is tucked away on their website, but I must confess I hadn’t studied the website in detail.)

I said it was fine the rooms weren’t made up - could we just sit in the lounge? He begrudgingly let us. When I had the audacity to ask if there was a toilet I could use, I was met with more anger. He then went to the back of the building and we could hear him aggressively shouting about people showing up before 3pm.

Finally another man (his son) appeared. Completely dishevelled, in pyjama bottoms. He gave us our key, told us to go to the top room and read the info book. No hello.

The room was fine. Clean, toiletries. The breakfast was also ok. Plenty of food. But you wonder about the hygiene given the state of the younger man.

The decor was…creepy. If the owners had been nice, you might have considered it quaint. But given the aggression of the owners, it just added to the general ‘Deliverance’ vibe. My son was really scared by the whole thing - I had to cuddle him till he fell asleep and he kept asking if the door was locked. We were so glad to get out of there the next day.

Absolutely dreadful experience. Steer clear!

Awful, aggressive owners - stay away!

Horrible. 

No hospitality at all, got greeted by their son in a shirt that read “game of thrones is like history but with dragons and boobs”. Instantly told us to take our shoes off told us what room we were in, didn’t show us then said we had to order breakfast before a certain time. Had to drag ourselves and luggage up the stairs to find our room. 

The room was tiny, the bathroom was abysmal with the sink behind a cabinet door. And the shower was in the room so if you wanted privacy you had to pull a curtain across. 

Breakfast wasn’t great either and the hospitality still wasn’t there with the older gentleman being very rude. 

Talking to other fellow hikers who stayed here they all agreed the vibe was horrible and felt creepy, I would highly recommend never staying here.
