Before our stay at the Colony, my friend and I were very nervous due to the plethora of bad reviews about the staff, the smell and the condition of the rooms. Our fears were unfounded- the staff were beyond lovely and accommodating. There was no smell in the lobby and the dog behind the reception was very well behaved. The rooms were in good condition and cleaned daily. It definitely isn't the most luxurious hotel but for the price and for it being a 3 star hotel, I have no complaints. The location of the hotel is quite far from the centre but we found it quite easy to use the public transport- it took about 50 minutes on the bus to get into the centre, which was quite tiring at times. Near the Colony Hotel, I would recommend Gradito al Fleming to eat as the food was lovely.
