Cape Town Eagles Nest

Our time in Cape Town was made complete by our stay at Eagles’ Nest! I think Mark and Lizette were some of the most accommodating and hospitable hosts I’ve ever met. They were super helpful about Cape Town, places to see, places to eat, and Mark gave us three women (in our 20s) the fatherly safety talk, which was actually pretty informative too! Breakfast in the dining room was excellent, and the view overlooking the city and Table Mountain is beautiful.  The guest house is nicely situated at the base of Table Mountain, and it cost us an average of 70-90 rand to get to the Victoria & Albert Waterfront in town, or the beach areas on the western coast (Excite Taxis was our go-to company for our taxi service).   We highly recommend Eagles’ Nest!

This is an owner-manager establishment so the service is excellent and professional. Mark went out of his way to make my stay as comfortable as possibleThere are also some great restaurants in the neighbourhood.
      

Eagle's Nest's location provides a grand view of Cape Town and the bay beyond. The rooms are spacious and airy. The staff are most responsive to their guests' needs. Mountain paths start right outside.

A total disappointment-
The date of the booking totally wrong - owner’s fault
Rudeness of Realien-to her staff in front of visitors; we had to pack up by 10pm and paid dj until 12, 
we were told to go to our rooms like children

Owner - Realien- unprofessional/ a disaster party

I had the pleasure of staying at Eagles nest a number of times over the last 15 years. The guesthouse has recently changed hands. I contacted the new owners telephonically
to make a booking and was told that they were renovating, but could accommodate my family over the required dates. Over the next 2 weeks my husband and I repeatedly requested an email confirming the reservation but got no response to messages or emails. Eventually my husband managed to get through to the owner on the phone and was told that the room would not be available, with no apology or explanation for the failure to reply to repeated emails and phone messages. I am saddened by the rude and unprofessional behavior of the new owner. Can't comment on the renovation as I never got to see it.
