Buonarroti Guest House

We had a great 9-night stay here. The friendly host granted our request for a check-in 1 hour early, at 11AM. This guest house is 3 rooms on the 7th (top) floor of an apartment building. Two rooms have a great balcony view of the city and wide windows that swing open from the room. There is an elevator, and a stairway to walk down if you want. The room was clean, with maid service every day and clean towels every 2 days. Room and bathroom are spacious and bed was comfortable. Hot water and water pressure were good. We did not use the heat or A/C, so can’t say how well it worked. There is an electric kettle to heat water for tea or Nescafe instant coffee, which we did every morning rather than walking blocks for morning coffee. There is a small refrigerator, and a great fully stocked Conad grocery store 2 doors to the right out the front door with prices less than half of what they are in USA – cheap! The free Wi-Fi worked well. Great location – the main Termini train station is a 10-minute walk away, which also has the buses going all over the city. A metro subway stop is a 5-minute walk from the room. There is a great authentic Italian restaurant (Trattoria Vecchia Roma) out the building door and to the left at the corner, but get there early to wait in line for its 7PM opening time. The Colosseum is a 10-minute walk straight down the street and through a park. All this for €118/night including all taxes and fees, with full refund cancel up to 6 days before arrival. We really have nothing bad to say about this room, and would most definitely stay here on any return trip to Rome.
