Peaceful oasis in the centre of golf club on the edge of the city. Quiet, clean and fully equipped lodge. Welcome essentials and treats provided

A beautiful lodge set in a peaceful setting. Very clean, spacious and had everything we needed. We requested bed guards in the lodge and they were there on arrival. Would definitely stay again.

Was great for whole family , grandparents , parents and baby even the dog 🐶 , hot tub great , well stocked kitchen , vey clean and furniture high standard for a holiday let , had fun at the pitch and putt and walked down to the golf club bar terrace also friendly , lovely pub 3 min drive away the kings head .

Very clean, great facilities, hassle free check in and out, peaceful location, great for exploring Winchester and surrounding area.

We have just returned from a fantastic weekend, we stayed in a two bed lodge with hot tub and everything was first class.
The communication from the company was excellent and we will definitely return.
The location is good and I fully recommend a visit

Cabins are spaced a good distance from each other . Lovely and quiet.  We have been going there for years but feel the cabins could do with updating.  E g.  We stayed in lodge 8 nine years ago and it had the same cushions and curtains and leather sofa. These are looking very faded.The electric log fire in the lounge wasn’t working.  Despite this  I would still go again because it’s so peaceful

Weekend away with the girls as a bit of a break. Property was stunning, clean and perfect what we required.

Nice little welcome pack of tea, coffee, crisps, biscuits, fresh mill etc, was an a nice little touch.

All rooms were in excellent condition and nice and clean. Excellent size towels.

Hot tub was lovely and was able to relax in a nice calming environment 

Over the years we have stayed here 7 times,  this weekend we had 2 cabins next to each other for birthday celebrations 
The cabins are light and spacious and always immaculately clean throughout with everything you need inside.
Each cabin is well placed so you have privacy in the hot tub 
We have taken the dogs a few times and the verrander has a gate so they can't escape and there is some nice walks to do nearby with them.
My husband and son love the little putting green in the middle of the cabins
Can't fault anything and will be back to stay again

Our 7th visit here and every time it's been perfect 

Visited the lodges with a special friend and elderly disabled father. Nothing was too much trouble .The team were welcoming ,polite and friendly, were at the door within minutes when we needed some assistance. The site was peaceful,secluded,loads of wildlife and owls to keep us entertained. A discount at the surrounding golf course clubhouse was most welcome. 
The lodge was immaculate, warm and cosy during a pretty cold snap. Everything you could need was there,plus a very welcome tray of goodies. Thank you to the team for a wonderful stay.

Stayed for two days whilst visiting the area and was so glad we chose here. An amazing lodge, so much more spacious that I thought it might be. We had a 3-bed with a hot tub and was so pleased. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and the lodge had everything you could need. Would have been great to have stayed longer!

We'll be booking again soon.

The Perfect Home Away From Home

Lovely lodge and but for 2 things would have given a 5 star review.

Booked a 2 bedroom lodge and website clearly says bathroom has overhead shower. It didn’t - hand spray for bath only (see photo). As we were 2 couples this meant sharing an en suite shower - scheduling this to enable use of hot tub and mornings. Not ideal and we would not have booked if correctly described.

Bedroom 2 had a ridiculous level of lighting - the main light was 5 watts - so low it was almost impossible to tell if it was on. I think it is a decorative feature light and not suitable for a large dark room.

It’s a shame as the lodge was very well equipped and spacious.

Let down by lack of second shower

We recently stayed at lodge 17 with our two teenage daughters and our dog. Initially i was concerned that there wouldn’t be enough for them to do. I couldn’t be more wrong! The lovely Lisa came and gave us all a treatment in the comfort of our lodge. We had a facial and 25 minute neck, shoulder massage - it was complete bliss! I thoroughly recommend. The hot tub was a complete winner and my youngest did not want to get out of it. Darren is an asset to your company. He came every day to check the temperature etc and is just the nicest, kindest man whose value cannot be underestimated. Please give him a pay rise! We took a trip on the bus to Winchester which was very straightforward and a beautiful town with plenty to do. The dog loved the walks and the area surrounding the lodges is simply stunning.

As for the lodge - well it was luxury. Spotlessly clean, high end and truly made us feel like we were on holiday. It is a wonderful place to recharge and collect your thoughts. At night the stars are magical - never see that in London! I would love to visit at Christmas -‘I bet it’s even more stunning. Next time I will definitely treat myself to an afternoon tea. I rarely return to the same place twice as I don’t like to spoil fantastic memories but I feel that South Winchester Lodges would continue to impress. 

I would throughly recommend and can’t wait to book my next visit.

Rest, recuperate and recharge! Stunning!

Just returned tonight after a stay at number 12 lodge, lovely lodge backed onto a small woodland area and somewhat secluded (3 bedrooms, sleeps 6 with hot tub). Some other lodges were more open and facing the free to use pitch and putt area (which my 3 boys enjoyed in the evenings, free putts and balls in the lodge). Also a small woodland area directly outside the lodge for kids of age to explore independently (watch out for the tree fairies!)
We travelled in 1 car as a family but parking for 2/3 cars directly outside.
Lodge had everything you needed (We brought an iron, tower fan, caffetiare and clothes drier but all were provided). Lovely welcome package on arrival!
As per previous reviews, yes the private road onto site is a little bumpy, go slow and nothing to worry about!
Winchester town a 9 minute drive away (lovely town mixed between historical monuments and modern shops and boutique shops. Lovely restruants). We had lovely drinks at the "oldest pub in Engand" and bought several items at the market. Also did the local treasure hunt for a family of 5 for £11, lovely way of exploring the town and stopping for fab ice creams and a G&T!
2 trips to Bournmouth beach (amazing sands and warm sea water, 1.5 hours due to road works but usually 40/45 mins away) where you can have a beach BBQ after 6pm (was a perfect evening meal after a swim) We chose Boscombe beach as away from the pier so lovely and quiet.
Lodge info brochure identified excellant local places to eat including takeaways / deliveroo.
Discount on golf course for Lodge guests (remember the lodges are independent to the professional golf course).
Only 1 thing I'd recommend, is that the private number 12 lodge owner splashes out on air con (lodge 12 observation only, many other lodges have air con) as sleepless nights despite the tower fan provided and brought with us for kids room) otherwise lovely, comfortable beds and bedding.
Lodge was clean and everything you needed was included. Yes, sofas are opposite each other with TV on the wall, so if you are a TV fan then sofas are easily moved to face TV (not heavy, did it myself for a movie night)
Whilst I was cleaning the lodge on departure (my choice), my family went for breakfast at the golf club. Very, very friendly staff, welcoming and accommodating knowing it was a pre-journey breakfast.... Thank you!!!
Last but not least, thank you Darren for cleaning our hot tub EVERY morning and for recommending local attractions. You were so helpful, polite and cheerful (staff award recommended!!) we hope you have a lovely family holiday and sorry we didn't see you before we left for a small gift x
Chose 4 out of 5 only because air con would have been amazing in our lodge given the hot nights.
5 out of 5 because we don't like busy-everything-on-your-doorstep UK holidays.
Wi-Fi good, BBQ stand, hot tub much welcomed after a day out and rule of hub tub closure at 10pm a good idea. Plenty of indoor and outdoor eating for 6. Peaceful, luxury stay. 
Ps.... book directly as cheaper and you know what you are getting rather than booking.com which was far more expensive than booking it directly

Do it!

Staying at South Winchester  Lodges is a wonderful relaxing experience.  The Lodges are spacious, the grandchildren loved the hot tub.  Plenty of space to run around.  
Winchester is close by and a wonderful place to visit, both for walks, shops and places to eat.  We also visited Beaulieu Motor Museum which was amazing, both for the adults and children.  A visit to Winchester Science Centre was less exciting, and the add on costs to enter the planetarium and other specialities seemed unfair.
We ate out at The Kings Head in Hursley, (just a few minutes drive from the Lodge), and enjoyed locally sourced trout from the river Itchen.  We also ate at the Plough, sitting outside with a great play area for children, and again great food.  The Greyhound at Stockbridge, it out of this world, eating either inside or out.  Overall Hampshire is a beautiful place to visit.  The great weather may have contributed to our wonderful visit.
