684 reviewsWe had a delightful stay at the Tynemouth Castle Inn. The hotel is really nicely furbished with plenty of space and seating in the bar and restuarant. It has lovely sea front views, which can be enjoyed both inside and outside. We enjoyed a drink outside on the top terrace in the sunshine with wonderful sea front views - then later enjoyed a drink from the bar and fish and chips outside on the lower terrace (from Oswins - not the best battered fish we've had, but the chips were good and the other hotel food looked great.) The room and bathroom were a good size and nicely done with everything we needed - oh, and we got upgraded to a sea view room on arrival! The breakfast was great (lots of choice and nicely cooked) and we were allowed to sit in any of the areas, so chose the tables with a sea view and got to see the dolphins swimming along whilst enjoying a full english. Perfect! We loved pretty Tynemouth (with its bars, cafes and shops), the beautiful beach and the wonderful hotel. We'll be back, for sure.
