University Of Arts - Don Gratton House

I stayed here for 2 nights during the 2019 Summer. For a solo visitor in London I found the place to be good value for money. I walked from the Aldgate East tube station which only took 5 mins with luggage. There is a small supermarket located between the tube station and the accommodation which is convenient. Having access to a kitchen in London for this price is impressive. The kitchen had 2 stoves and a freezer, although the fridge was broken down, so they had put in a little bar fridge. Basic crockery and cutlery were supplied. My room felt private and secure with a comfy bed, and a really nice shower for a student dorm. The room felt clean and had good wifi. There were minor things that were annoying. The room smelt slightly of smoke, reception was hard to find initially, and I had trouble getting the wifi to work initially, but the staff were very helpful in resolving this issue. I was there on a 35 degree day and the room was very hot at night. I was based on the first floor of the A block and there was a lot of noise in the car park below. Despite these annoyances, this was a good place to stay if you are on a budget, but you'd like your own room. I would be happy to stay again.
