Denise and Steve are wonderful hosts, we had a lovely 2 night stay with them. The accommodation is spacious and spotlessly clean with every need catered for including home made cake on arrival. The breakfast is fantastic and plentiful a added bonus is on site parking. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

We stayed last weekend and absolutely loved the character of the accommodation. Very welcoming hosts, nothing too much trouble and the best cooked breakfast with locally sourced ingredients.  We would love to come back next year and highly recommend Number 18 for anyone wishing to stay in Whitby 😀 Kathryn and Ian

Steve & Denise are the perfect hosts. Very friendly, offering tips where to eat etc. Serving your every need at breakfast but then stepping back leaving you in peace to enjoy a private chat over a delicious breakfast in the quaint, rustic decor of the breakfast room... We chose this B&B over others as the car parking space on offer in the back garden was important to us. It worked so well just popping in with our luggage. The couple are obviously mindful of the environment keeping packing/waste to a minimum and luxury, natural kinds of bathroom toiletries offered... We will definitely recommend No 18 to any friends/family seeking a quality B&B in Whitby in the future...

What a gem. Great location for walking into the town, or better avoid the town and walk across the Cook monument.

Super friendly hosts, amd nithing too much trouble. Breakfast was perfect and plentiful, the option done so to perfection. Would not hesitate to recommend.

Steve & Denise are brilliant hosts, showing interest in your needs whilst not overdoing it. The rooms are lovely and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was so well presented and lovely produce, with eggs from the chickens  they keep. You need to be of good mobility if intending to walk from the property into town, but is able to do so its only 10 mins or so to the harbour. A great place to stay, with safe parking at the rear of the house for your car and ideal for exploring the wonders of Whitby. 

Home from home, lovely friendly welcome and the most beautiful cake. Beautiful breakfast and a really comfortable bed. Shower was fantastic as well. We were worried about road noise but shouldn’t have been because the double glazing worked so well.

Just returned from our second visit, and all i can say is we still highly recommend it. Rooms lovely and clean big and very comfy bed. Yummy cake in the room when you get there. Fantastic breakfast all freshly cooked, and lovely homemade jams. Both Denise and Steve are a fantastic couple nothing is too much. Definitely recommend.

Just returned from 3 nights in whitby staying at no 18 and I can't praise it highly enough, Denise is absolutely lovely and steve has a really laid back attitude where everything you request is answered with " no problem  ", the rooms are spotless and everything you need is provided for you, TV with netfix and now TV, if your thinking of booking then don't hesitate,  you won't regret it

An absolute gem! We stayed for two nights! Denise and Steve are perfect hosts and went out of their way to ensure our stay was amazing. The rooms are very tastefully decorated and equipped, the beds are very comfortable and the bathroom and shower units are great. The complimentary toiletries are wonderful! The food is exceptional a wide choice of breakfast and all diets catered for. The cake and biscuits in the room are a lovely touch. We even opted for an evening meal we had 3 courses and it was brilliant and excellent value. Steve even let us store our wine and beer in his fridge to keep cool. This is our second visit and we will definitely return. Thanks Denise and Steve for a fantastic stay

Great location for walking into Whitby town centre. Off-road parking at the back of the property means you don’t have to worry about your vehicle

Delightful hosts Denise and Steve. The attention to detail in the rooms was amazing, they have thoughtfully provided many items that you may need. 

Tea making facilities also come with homemade cake! 

Bathroom of the front bedroom is large with a great shower. 

Breakfast is cooked to order very fresh. Toast comes with Denise‘s delicious home-made jams and marmalade. We also ordered a packed lunch for our long walk from Robin Hoods Bay back to Whitby and we had delicious (and plentiful)  food in that too.

Fantastic B&B in a fab location

We have just returned from stopping here for the weekend. All I can say is fantastic, we were made feel very welcome from the time we arrived. Very large room, also large bathroom with a really big shower. Lovely homemade cake left in the room for you. Breakfast is preordered the day before, lots of home produce, eggs from the chickens in the garden, and lovely homemade jam. Would definitely recommend stopping here.

Denise and Steve are terrific hosts. I was made to feel very welcome from the minute I arrived. Steve was always on hand and he was easy to contact. 

There is private parking at the rear of the property which  takes away the stress of on street parking- if you stay on the West Cliff, most of the b&bs don't have private parking and finding an on street parking spot is difficult.

Breakfast is pre-ordered, and taken at an agreed time slot. I loved the breakfasts. Home made granola, high quality bacon and sausage, eggs from the hens in the garden and home made preserves. 

The room was spacious and  comfortable and the bathroom was excellent with a spacious, powerful shower.  The room overlooked the busy main road but I slept well as the property is double glazed.

Cross the road and you can access the cinder track and walk to Robin Hoods Bay. The walk into town takes 10-15 minutes, downhill into town and uphill on the return journey. There are lots of hills and steep climbs in Whitby so if you're not fit when you arrive you should be a bit fitter when you go home as long as you haven't overdone the fish suppers.

I have stayed in many b&bs in Whitby over the years- this one is way superior to the others and the only one I have stayed in where I can't find anything to criticise! I had a lovely stay.
