This was booked as a surprise mini break for my birthday. Kay is a warm welcoming host and the atmosphere is perfect. 
The double room was clean and bright with the comfiest bed ever. The shower over the bath had lashings of hot water.
We also ate our evening meals here and Kay is a wonderful cook. We had Haggis Neeps and Tatties the first night and Salmon, Boiled Potatoes with crispy kale for the second.
Breakfast is very tasty . I would recommend the full Scottish Breakfast and the Scrambled Eggs with smoked Salmon. Porridge is plentiful and creamy - as attested by one of fellow guests. There is also options for cereal, fruit etc.
We visited the Tomatin Distillery and really enjoyed the special afternoon tasting tour where we sampled mind blowing whiskies. Would highly recommend this delightful B&B

I booked a 2 night stay with a gift voucher from a well known company. I paid a little extra to get the 2nd night and now I wish I had booked an entire week. Kay and her staff are so lovely and welcoming and Kay is a fantastic cook! Nothing is too much to ask.
I fell in love with Tomatin and the Highlands that it's nested in. If you love nature, and I mean truly love nature rather than claim to love it, then you MUST stay here! I walked for miles on the Moor that sits behind Glenan Lodge. I met the sheep that live in the mountains and enjoyed the sun and rain. There's something about that place that makes you want to move house. Theres also a lovely little wood behind the lodge, just before you get to the Moor where red squirrels live. There's a red squirrel that visits Kay's garden to nibble at the nuts in the bird feeder. The deer, rabbits and squirrels run free there. You won't see a soul for hours. I had the Moor all to myself, it was amazing. I came here to relax and do some photography. I wasn't disappointed. I will be back again! Thank you Kay and team! X

Nearby activitiesThe Highlands a few minutes walk away! Or a 12 mile drive through the mountains to Coignafearn, the most incredible place!
WalkabilityYou can walk for miles in the Highlands. Bring appropriate footwear and clothing and plan your route!
Food & drinksKay's haggis, neeps and tatties and her pavlova are the best in scotland!
Noteworthy detailsPhotography. It's a photographers dream. Especially if you want to photograph red deer and red squirrel! I will post photos if I can figure out how.

Our stay here has been so much fun, from the moment we arrived. 
Kay, the owner, is as warm and welcoming as any we have ever met.
We enjoyed dinner here the first night as we had toured the Tomatin Distillery nearby. The dinner was haggis,Neeps and Tatties and was plentiful and delicious. We finished it with a lovely 18 year old whiskey.
Our bed was comfortable and the room so beautiful and quiet.
The shower had perfect pressure and temperature.
Breakfast was the best with a great variety of food offered.
We definitely want to come back here on future visits!!!

Fab guest house. Welcome was very warm and comforting. Room was neat, clean and perfect for our needs. Very friendly staff, professional and courteous. Food served was just right. Very easy to book, payment was seamless. Great advice from our host on travel directions too. First clasd in every way. 

Nice place and Kay is great and really friendly host. Near to hiking/walking/cycling in the mountains and only a few minutes from Tomatin Distillery (there you have visitir centre/tours).
Nice breakfast and I also had dinner mo-th which was really great. 

My family and I had an overnight stay at Glenan Lodge. We were left really impressed with Kay's hospitality - nothing was a problem at all. We were put instantly at ease in this very comfortable and beautiful lodge. Kay was fab.

We arrived at Glenan Lodge a bit early as my husband had a whisky tour booked at Tomatin Distillery, the proximity to which was our initial reason for booking this B&B. Kay, the owner, showed us our room, the guest lounge & advised us of the availability of evening meal & breakfast times, as well as menu for the same. She gave us our keys & told us how to get hold of her if required. 
All in all our 2 night stay here was exactly what we needed, the accommodation was homely, very clean & comfortable. The food was home cooked, tasty & plentiful. The availability of a bar in the evening was a bonus, as the house is out of town so no access to pubs within walking distance. 
Kay & her small staff made us feel most welcome & nothing was a problem. A lovely place to stay and being just a few minutes off the A9, handy for touring the highlands as well. 

This was my first B&B experience and it was great , Kay was welcoming and friendly, We went down In the evening and had a few drinks and a chat with Kay , We had to leave early the next morning but Kay did us a lovely breakfast before we left , nothing was to much trouble, A fantastic place in a beautiful part of Scotland , I would say again if given the opportunity 👍😊

Really lovely welcoming stay here, the food was great, I had the fish & chips, the room was spacious, tea coffee, cakes & tv was all good! I had a great view out the window, the hostess was amazing! Made sure we was okay with the food & drink, chatty & friendly, we was made to feel welcome without no pressure.

We stayed one night on a recent tour of the Highlands and was very impressed by the accommodation. It was very comfortable and Covid safe.  Our Sat Nav took us along quite a bumpy lane to get there, but be aware there is a quicker access via the entrance to the nearby Tomatin  Distillery. 
Kay was very friendly and welcoming. We had the evening meal, as, after a long day travelling, we didn't want to get back in the car to find a restaurant.  
We didn't want to stay actually in Aviemore, as we found it quite busy and commercialised.  The next day we had lovely porridge and fruit for breakfast. Then we drove to Inverness, which wasn't too far, and down via Loch Ness to Fort William.

Ideal stopover for touring the Highlands

I booked Glenan Lodge for a single night, right at the end of our NC500 experience, and what a treat it was! Kay and her young son, Alexander, greeted us warmly (but also safely with masks and sanitising gel because of Covid) and showed us to our room. We immediately felt at home as Kay made sure we were happy with the surroundings and turned the radiators on for me (even though my partner said it was perfectly warm enough! Hehe!). 
We were able to pre-order an evening meal from a small selection of home cooked made-by-Kay meals. Mince and tatties, haggis with neeps and tatties or beer battered fish and chips. All potatoes from Kay’s own garden. We had table service with wine and spirits and it was so relaxing and enjoyable. 
The bedroom (Room 5) was delightful - quiet, comfortable and cosy and, for those readers who are wondering, yes the room was definitely warm enough and I slept like a log! 
The en-suite included and bath with a shower over. I didn’t have a bath but the shower was good - plenty of hot water with good water pressure too. 
Breakfast was again pre-ordered, to a time of our choosing, and it was perfect and huge! There was a pot of hot coffee to help ourselves too and for those who chose tea they got a pot with a gorgeous knitted tea cosy! I did have tea cosy envy! There was cereal and fruit, with orange juice and yoghurt. Porridge was on offer (with blueberries and honey) but also smoked salmon and scrambled egg. As if that wasn’t enough The full Scottish included sausage, bacon, haggis, black pudding, mushrooms, tomato, baked beans and egg (from Kay’s own chickens). Oh, and toast with butter (stamped with a thistle!) and jam or marmalade. 
I loved the little extras that made it feel like a home. For example, I especially liked the original artwork on the walls... “A mountain” by Alexander is a treasure! 
Thank you for a simply lovely stay! I’d love to come back!!

Fabulous and friendly B&B

Was lucky enough to get an upgrade and boy my room was beautiful..i didn't want to leave!
Lovely comfy bed with good quality bedding, spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated.
Lovely little en-suite and nice fluffy towels. Shampoo and shower gel also provided .
Nice try with plenty of hot drinks to choose from.
Good breakfast with plenty of choice.
overall and very agreeable stay.
I would definitely return if in that area again.

Quiet comfy stay

Stayed here for two nights with friends, three of us had come up on motorbikes with the intention of going to the Tomatin distillery. 

Firstly we were very warmly welcomed by Kay the proprietor. This was a lovely welcome and we were shown to our rooms and everything was explained to us. Kay gave us some great ideas for roads to take the bikes on and we were not disappointed. Had dinner both nights we were there and nothing was an issue at all, just had to ask and one of our party required gluten free food and Kay bent over backwards to make this happen, breakfast was outstanding as well as the absolutely fantastic service. It was very clean, very welcoming and if you are looking for a quiet retreat this is the perfect place to go. 

Glenan lodge offers fantastic value for money as well and the wee touches make all the difference such as the large bottle of water in the room with the stags head pourer and all the tea and coffee amenities. 

Can’t fault anything about Glenan Lodge at all!! THANK YOU!!
