MY husband stayed here while on our Honeymoon on the NC500 and we are so glad we stopped here. Such a beautifully decorated room at the top which was so cosy.  The food in the restaurant was really good and they were able to cater for my numerous food allergies. Andi was an absolute star and so good to chat to. Would really recommend this hotel to all

We booked into Borgie Lodge as part of our NC500 trip and stayed for two nights in this beautiful wooded part of the journey. We stayed in the Peter Rabbit room, compact and cosy and very comfortable.

We arrived in the lovely spring weather of May of this year, and Dan immediately recommended we head for their walled garden where we enjoyed an idyllic afternoon with a chilled lager shandy and enjoyed the diverse birdlife visiting the hotel's herb garden.

Which leads us onto the stars of the stay. Andi is the most amazing host: absolutely the right level of personable and informative to make you feel right at home. Her partner, Nigel, apparently took up cheffing when their chef left. And thank goodness for that! His cooking skills  are outstanding. We tried the Highland Chicken on the first night - and my husband had it on the second night too as it was absolutely delicious. The menu, both for dinner and breakfast, was outstanding, all complemented by the amazing staff who work with these lovely people.

There are some great woodland walks on the doorstep: just note that next door's dog might accompany you and some amazing hidden beaches nearby.

Absolutely excellent.  This hotel is fabulous, a gem hidden in the Highlands.  Amazing food, comfortable rooms, lovely friendly staff.  We have stayed twice and hope to return again, even though it's over 600 miles from home.  Very dog friendly 

We were made to feel welcome the moment we arrived, Our Dog can be yappy sometimes and was given lots of fuss biscuits and ice cream, Food was amazing and the room was lovely.

What a wonderful discovery. We booked this through booking.com but next time would go direct to the property. The lodge is tucked away - very remote but a beautiful location- with views of the surrounding hills and often the odd deer in sight. The owners are super friendly, not just dog tolerant but really welcoming and from our arrival it was clear that we were going to enjoy our one night staying here. We had the attic room which was surprisingly spacious and accessed through the bathroom which we thought was really quirky. Nice to discover there was a bath and a little dressing room where our dog slept! And the food was delicious- we both had venison - really generous portions and a cracking breakfast the next day. We really wish we could have stayed for longer as sitting in the cosy wood clad lounge with a roaring fire in the evening was just what we needed after a long day exploring. Absolutely fabulous place, rebooking for next year.   Isolated, friendly and unique, the sort of pace you’d want to get snowed in at.  Everything about is was lovely, the welcome, the room, the food and the actual dog friendliness rather than dog tolerant,

We visited this beautiful hotel while on a tour on our motorbike.
When we pulled up a young lad ( Dan )asked us if we wanted to park our motorbike in the garage which was a first for us we don’t usually get an option, luckily the weather was nice so we didn’t need to but it was a great first impression.
The same lad checked us in and showed us to our lovely room ( peter rabbit) not the biggest room but beautifully decorated with  a lovely clean bathroom.
We went to the bar for a drink which is lovely and comfortable ( even had a fire lit) Dan was also serving behind the bar, he was so nice and obviously loves working and living at the hotel, he showed us some amazing pictures of a herd of deer he had seen that day and told us to keep an eye for them in the neighbouring field, we never saw them  but that’s life!
Dinner was served in one of 2 rooms - 1 is dog friendly.
 Andi (who is the owner along with her husband who is the chef ) was serving us dinner and was also extremely friendly taking time to chat to all her customers.
Dinner was fantastic - quite a large menu so plenty of options and a specials board.
I had the highland chicken which was scrummy, my husband had the fish pie which he really enjoyed.
We took a cheeseboard back into the bar area and passed a lovely couple of hours in there.
We slept very well as it’s so quiet.
Breakfast was very good too.
I had a wander around the gardens in the morning it is absolutely beautiful, cant find fault with anything.
It’s dog friendly too.

Lovely hotel run by friendly welcoming staff. It was fully booked but they provided an individual welcome to each guest. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed a walk to the river after dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. The room was nicely decorated and very clean. Wish we’d stayed more than one night.

Slightly remote small Hotel, family run. Our room was modern and very clean. Evening meal was excellent, with a halibut special which was superb. Breakfast was pre ordered the night before, but again was piping hot and beautifully cooked.
Andi and Dan were very friendly, and rearranged our room to avoid my disability in climbing stairs.
All together first class, and to be highly recommended.

This is a lovely hotel on the north coast part of the NC500, where places to stay are few and far between. We had an excellent dinner and breakfast, and a very comfortable bed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, and there are some nice grounds to walk around, with plenty of parking

Lovely hotel

A Real Hidden Gem in the Highlands

My wife & I stayed at Borgie Lodge on a Friday night in early Oct.
The lodge is beautiful, in a wonderful rural setting, perfect for kicking back, relaxing, and enjoying life.
Lovely bedrooms and a bar and lounges with fireplaces to cuddle up in the winters. Absolutely divine food too. Service from Andi and the staff was first rate.
Sorry we could stay only one night. We’d certainly go back for longer next time.

Wonderful Borgie Lodge

4 of us stayed in the bunkhouse 19/9/23. After arriving soaking wet we received a warm welcome, our motorbikes were tucked away in the garage and all our kit hung on the drying walls overnight. The bunkhouse was warm clean and comfortable. Dinner was very good as was breakfast. All the staff were fantastic this was easily the best place we stayed on our trip and I am already planning to return.

Absolutely fantastic stay

We have now stayed at the Borgie three times since 2019, such is the lasting impression made by staff, location, the quality of food and the comfort of the stay. 
We are never disappointed, the “Borgie Experience” always exceeds expectations and it should be considered a benchmark for its consistently high standards of customer care. 
Put it like this, trips to the far north of Scotland are now planned around availability to book at the Borgie, we absolutely love the place!  11/10

Best small hotel in Northern Scotland, bar none.

Despite only staying here for 1 night, it was a great overnight stay. We had a room on the first floor. The hotel is a bit secluded but that gives so much peace. The room was spacious and had a fine and spacious bed. Also 2 chairs where you could relax and enjoy your book or the view. 
We also took advantage of the opportunity to have dinner. Reasonable at the price, everything is purchased locally and it tasted delicious
