This hotel came up as the best compromise between cost and reviews. It was a pleasant experience overall. Rooms were clean, tidy & comfortable. Breakfast was well cooked and plentiful. We were in the annexe rather thsn the main building, but it was only 20yards away-the other side of the car park.

Myself,my brother and sister from Australia, stayed at the station hotel thurso, the triple room was immaculately presented,the staff especially young Megan, Katy and Rebecca and the not so young Pam were fantastic,We had dinner and breakfast there which was excellent , l can honestly say it was a 5* stay for us

Decor is beautiful, everywhere is spotless, attention to detail on furnishings and staff are all attentive, happy, and helpful. A rarity to have all 3! Food is always presented beautifully, wife choice on menu and piping hot. And I am a fussy guest ;) 11/10

Fantastic stay! The owners Stan and his wife Pam are thoughtful and very kind. Food are very very good and the room clean and spacious. I have been coming to this hotel for 20 years. I  love the Station Hotel ♥️

The room was spotless and stylish the bed was comfy, the food was excellent and the staff were very very helpful.Two minute walk from the town centre and lovely riverside walk to the harbour at Thurso.

Local to the area and have not been here for a long time.  Food was lovely and fresh with good menu choices.    Staff very friendly and efficient.  Lovely eating area and bar area.  Will definitely return! 😊

Hi i stayed with yous for 2 nights when doing an Abbey tour you were definatly one of the nicest hotels ive stayed in recently the staff alway had a smile even when really busy nothing was to much trouble when dealing with fussy old me

We had our dog with us and had a room in the annex off the car park which was absolutely great for us. Staff very friendly and efficient. We stayed 2 nights but only ate dinner here the second night and wished we had done so both nights as the food was excellent (including breakfast). Would definitely stay here again if in Thurso.

We stayed in a "courtyard" room, one of which surrounds the car park at the rear of the hotel.  We could park our car right outside which made unpacking very easy and we had our own front door, perfect for late night/early morning short walks with the hounds.   There is a beautiful park at the bottom of the road for walks and town and the beach are also a short walk away.  Our room was huge, with a living area at the front, bedroom at the rear (separated by a curtain) and a huge bathroom beyond that.   I can understand why some reviews call the decor "tired", the rooms are little old fashioned (think Butlins chalets), but spotlessly clean, towels are changed every day, new toilet rolls, tea, coffee and biscuits daily.  The bed was extremely comfortable.  

The team at the hotel made us and hounds so welcome, we were sad to leave after our four day holiday.  We had breakfast and dinner here every day in the bar and the food was really excellent.   They even posted our leather dog leads back to us that we accidentally left behind! 

I would 100% stay here again when we return to Thurso.

Really nice stay with friendly staff and a warm check in experience. Rooms functional and clean. Slightly dated but didn’t come here to showcase my interior design. Evening meal was amazing, with very attentive and friendly staff. Nice early start with a 7am breakfast once again - food really good amazing service and for the price point its is 100% worth the money x 

I have been travelling around Scotland and this is one of the best value for money places I have been, people in Thurso are the most friendly and I loved every second of it, Will be back! 

If your looking for a warm welcome with amazing food…. And with a cost bracket that’s hard to beat I would say this has to be one you have to check out.

Enjoyed one night in a double room while navigating the North Coast 500. While the room was quite small and contained merely a double bed it was comfortable.
Breakfast and dinner in the resturant was very good and staff were very helpful and courteous.
Good parking between hotel buildings with lighting and CCTV. Thurso however was very quiet overnight. If you don’t wish to dine in the hotel there are a few restaurants within a short walk.

Comfortable room and lovely food and staff. Quality and size of bedroom and bed acceptable for one night.

FANTASTIC STAY WITH THE HOUNDS

Very accommodating and friendly. My schedule required me to leave before breakfast some days which they accommodated by kindly providing a packed lunch the night before and sometimes I would also arrive late in the evening, after the kitchen had closed, in which case they would take my order earlier in the day and make it fresh upon arrival. The menu has an excellent vegetarian/vegan selection. Comfortable rooms. Good location

Business trip

Great location for both the station (obviously!) and the town. Room was very clean and bath + shower. Staff very welcoming. Breakfast is a choice of continental or Scottish.  Did not eat there but had a couple of drinks in the bar which has big comfy sofas.

Stayed here for two nights on our coach tour of Scotland. Stayed in a large room in the courtyard which was OK. Evening meal was good with a good breakfast as well. Staff were very friendly with us. Rooms could probably do with updating.

Good experience

Nice and comfortable studio accommodation and plenty of room.  Has everything we needed including tea making facilities.  Nice and clean and People very helpful.  Food very good also with good menu.   Would recommend and stay again ourselves
