I dont write many reviews. However, when it comes to this hotel in the Cotswolds, all i can say is wow! What an absolutely beautiful hotel. Stayed here with a friend for a birthday getaway- three nights of amazing quality and luxury. I want to personally thank every single member of staff who looked after me during my stay, such as Zoe on reception, Shopie at the bar, Darren (who has excellent knowledge and expertise) who covers the night shift and house keeping who really made my room comfy. This place is so beautiful- located on top of a beautiful hill which shows natural beauty, hills and sunsets. Parking is free (which is chargeable in alot of hotels these days) and they have EV charging spaces also. Lovely welcoming decor in reception and nice colour theme. I was so happy, I returned for a solo trip shortly after i left. I simply wanted more time to enjoy the facilities. I felt at ease, safe, relaxed and happy. The atmosphere made me feel really joyful. I woke up with a positive start each day because my bed so incredibly comfy, large and cosy. The beds are very generous in the twin and double size. I also had a nesspresso machine which made a lovely coffee on one of my mornings. Good size TV that can be seen from Bed. Lovely clean desk and cute lamp. Cleanliness: In terms of cleanliness, this hotel is very clean. It actually smells clean, not mouldy or like old carpet. No stains on bed or carpets in the two rooms I have stayed in. No hair in the showers or stuck to shower tiles (which i have seen in several hotels over the years). No yucky corners and no dirty surfaces in the bathroom. Clean mini fridges were provided in my room. The fridges contained Fresh locally sourced milk and still water. Housekeeping work hard and you can tell they care about their job. Pool: The pool can get slightly crowded very early in the morning as that's when many people like to swim (me included) but don't let that put you off this hotel because there are quiet times in the pool area. Firstly the pool very clean- again, a very important factor and secondly there is a hot tub which also appears clean and looks very comfortable- didnt try it out this time unfortunately. Nice spacious showers in pool area, clean changing area and clean toilets also. Lovely gym as well, facing the sunset also which is just magnificent. Really nice members of staff in gym aswell and nice little golf shop. Room: I stayed in a touch of class/ luxury room. This is a lovely room, with an incredible view! You also get your own patio with flowers and plants and honestly it feels luxurious. Upon entering the room was a wonderful welcome card that really makes me smile. I recieved this on both occasions. Beyond your personal patio and plants is a relaxing view that just warmed my heart. There is also an awning which can be controlled via Remote. On my solo trip I brought my easel, paints and painted for 8 hours (my idea of heaven) I had peace, quiet, beautiful surroundings and tranquility. So again if your looking to escape to the country for a solo painting holiday, I recommend this hotel. I recommend this hotel for everything. I want to emphasise the possibility to have a nice solo trip at this hotel because planning a trip as a solo traveller in the UK can be daunting. There is no air-conditioning in the rooms, however at night my room cooled right down and I was most comfortable under my Duvet- this was during the August Heatwave. The Bathrooms come with Complimentary toiletries from The White Company- the smell is just so luxurious and a very nice addition to the Bathroom. Location: The hotel location is wonderful. There's The Cotswolds designer outlet 9 mins away which is really lovely and clean, tidy and has a good selection of stores with great bargins. Around 40 to 45 mins away is Burton-on- the-Water which is an excellent cotswolds attraction. It's a very picturesque village. The journey to Burton from hotel is a pleasant one as you drive through the high hillsides you can see from the hotel. It's truly wonderful. The hotel is also about 25 mins from Cotswold Lavender- a magnificent Lavender farm on a hill. So there pleasant things to do as a solo traveller or with your family that are within driving distance of the hotel. The town of Tweksbury is really cute! Unfortunately I didn't get time to explore, I was too busy enjoying the hotel! Food: I only had breakfast at the hotel. What a delicious breakfast! Smoky bacon, and mushrooms were really tasty. It was all tasty. Good selection of hot drinks available at your request also. There's also freshly baked flapjacks, blueberry muffins, freshly made smoothies, fresh yoghurt , fresh fruit juice, pastries and a toast machine with condiments. Don't forget you can also order extras to your breakfast like an omelet or porridge if you don't fancy a full English. Flavours are spot on and you can tell they have good Chefs- Thank you to all the chefs. The resturant atmosphere is so relaxing with wonderful natural lighting in the conservatory area of the resturant. Very lovely restaurant staff also, nothing is too much trouble. Accessibility: This hotel does have steps that are unavoidable to the touch of class rooms. The steps are not long flight's but maybe the most you will go down is 8- 10 steps. All the staff are very aware of this. Without asking, if a member of staff sees you with luggage they immediately help you. You can also request help from reception and before you know it your luggage is on its way to the room. So in my opinon, this is a slight drawback that is recognised by staff and dealt with in the most efficient way possible. I have been told the hotel plans on improving accessibility. Special thanks to Chris- one of the hotels owners. Chris is a very kind, considerate hotel ownerwho takes guest experience very seriously, he is very approachable too! Couldn't be happier with this hotel. Honorable mention to Amie and Amanda who assisted me when I returned for my solo trip. Honestly everyone was so wonderful. Absolutely everyone is treated with respect by staff. I have seen previous reviews referring to racism, this was certainly NOT a factor on visits. The staff have nothing but kindness towards everyone. I would glady return to this hotel in a heart beat ... and I will return as soon as I can :).
