Sudeley Castle Cottages

The Sudely Castle Cottages stand on the grounds of nearby Sudely Castle and are a pleasant 5-minute walk into charming Winchcombe. We stayed here for three nights and would highly recommend it to either couples or families. There seem to be about a dozen or more cottages around a courtyard of sorts. Some buildings appear to be refurbished older structures, while others look more modern. We stayed in the 2-bedroom/2-bath Queen's Cottage, which appears to be in a renovated carriage house. There is a convenient large parking lot, in addition to the brick courtyard, so parking is easy. Our cottage was spacious, bright, and comfortable. The kitchen was well-equipped, including quality knives. They had some cookies, jams, and coffee - enough for our stay. If you need to buy food, there is a nice co-op grocery in town (maybe a 10-minute walk through the nice town or possibly 3 minutes by car). The cottage also had ample nice soaps and shampoos for the bathrooms. There are several nice restaurants in town, including one (5 North) with a Michelin star. Beware the opening times of the town shops, which appear to cater more to day visitors. Letting a cottage also gives you access to the castle, which is a 10-minute walk or very short drive. It's well worth a visit (and the savings are welcome). One poster on this site noted that the cottage only has UK plugs. We've traveled all over the UK and Europe and my only response is that most countries have the plugs that are used in that country. If you are coming internationally, bring more adapters than you think you will need, and there are scores available on sites like Amazon. We enjoyed our stay here very much and would happily stay here again.
