In my case I was visiting Portsmouth for a conference.  Staying at Hamilton House Bed & Breakfast felt as though I was truly a guest in Graham and Sandra's home. Very comfortable, unmatched breakfasts and friendly and helpful advice on transport and attractions. Just around the corner from where Rudyard Kipling spent his childhood. I will most definitely stay there again.  Mark Briskey

Great value!  Sandra & Graham were on hand to advise us of the most convenient and best value on transportation needs, tourist sights and tours.  They have traveled a great deal and it shows in their treatment of travelers.  Their breakfasts were the best we've had. (Even better than home!)
You cannot go wrong staying with them in Portsmouth,UK. The bus stops almost at their door.

This was an interesting experience. The place was very nice. Although the decor is extremely outdated ,the family room we had was huge, the beds so comfortable that we needed double alarms to wake us up. 
Some water issues : The hot water tap did not have any water one morning. A once -off incident.
Wifi is very bad throughout the house.  Non on the top floor.
Sandra, the Owner bought  special Milk for us for breakfast. This was a very nice and thoughtful gesture!  
The cooked breakfast served looks full an nice. .( We had just cereals and toast) 
Graham and Sandra are wonderful hosts .They have very useful advice for tourists, will provide you with some vouchers to save you some pounds in some attractions.
One word though:Although I am sure there is no harm intended, we found it quite awkward and embarrassing  to be introduced to all the rest of the guest during breakfast with details  about our name, nationality and the purpose of our visit and the results of  visit.! (information I shared with the hosts on a private -just-to-be-polite basis).. We were not the only guests introduced during breakfast. That's a tradition they have in the house, and in general a nice one, but  just the first name would be enough and also that AFTER getting our connect.
Except this? A great place to stay!Would go back there again!

A fortunate last minute find. A pleasure to have met Sandra and Graham who were very welcoming and helpful. The room was clean and bright and the breakfast was lovely. Will definitely stay again when we are in this part of the country in the future.

Well when we walked in the door I
thought oh my what have I done ! But once we climbed a hundred stair the room was basic but fine. 
Reminds you of your grandma,s house.breakfast was good plenty of it shower is small towels are small limited toiletries but clean and pleasant enough .

Hard to give this place even 1 star. Have stayed in really really basic accommodation across the world so by no means snobby when it comes to budget accommodation, especially at £40 is a bargain so didn’t expect glamour. However what we didn’t expect was bedding with literally brown dirt marks all over it,  so much hair inside the bed, quite clearly from multiple different bodies (it looked like someone had emptied a shaver of hair into the bed) as well as what we suspected was mouse/rat poo by the pillow. Floor in the room and in communal areas was literally a thick layer of dirt, clearly not vacuumed in years and bedding looked like it hadn’t been changed for weeks and weeks. Also communal area downstairs was quite creepy and off putting with sofas all turned upside down, huge piles of rubbish everywhere and huge piles of old food packets/cigarettes/old clothes that it looked like people had actually been squatting there. We didn’t arrived till late at night at which point it was too late for the landlord to be in the building however was so filthy we didn’t want to stay so had to find an alternative hotel at midnight. Even if you’re not fussy and on a budget, I’d steer clear of this place, I genuinely think it should be closed down/have a serious health and safety inspection.

Greeted by the "owner" who was rude, unprofessional and grossly bare foot....
The state of the bedrooms was horrendous.  Sheets had not been washed, toilet seat wasnt attached, floors were dirty, wall paper was falling off,shower was shocking, everything smelt so bad. The room smelt mouldy and musty. There was damp all over the house, everything was filthy and there was mess everywhere. I've been bitten in the night by some form of bug. We all have chesty coughs from the damp air. The building was falling apart and should not be open. I would avoid breakfast at all costs after seeing the lack of cleanliness in the kitchen. This place should not be open ! !

The worst place I have stayed in. Should be closed down.

My friend and I arrived to the B&B today - if we should describe it in one word it would be: AWFUL. Trash was left outside the entrance and it didn’t get any better, when we walked in the door. It was one big mess and with dirty dishes left on the stairs. The staff showed us to our room. We could see that the sheeds had been changed, but there was trash and dirt on the floor - and even a hole in the wall. We only stayed there for about 20 minutes and decided that we would feel too uncomfortable to stay in such a mess! DON’T GO THERE

Dirty, filthy and disgusting place!!!

Extremely dirty, filthy place . Damp patches everywhere, rubbish bins over floor, toilet not flushed when arrived , WiFi not working , no parking space , we couldn't walk without shoes as floor so dirty . Dirty toilet paper on floor near our door and dirty cups . Some toilets were blocked ( not our ) . Place completely let down to rot with these new owner .
Shame as it could.be ok if looked after I guess 
Place to avoid definitely. Don't understand how this place can still be open. Better for them never to have an hygiene or safety control

a total dump stay well clear 

cracks in walls mould all over the place durty carpets all over the place no food served no tv in rooms no tea coffie etc in rooms  no soap ets in rooms as well .

had to find key to my room
