Wonderful stay at the Ashford Arms, food exceptional, very comfortable room, lovely village in the Peak District

Lovely location and very well appointed, clearly very popular as you had to reserve at dinner and it was full. The breakfast was delicious as well

What a great find.  Think it may be new as decoration and quality of amenities were great.  Really was a lovely place, time and money must would have been invested.  Perfect location for the walks we wanted to do.  Walked into Bakewell, did the Monsal Trail and hiked up to the old Magpie Mines.  Would definitely recommend a stay @ the Ashford Arms food was top quality and to have breakfast included was a bonus.  Great pub/choice of beverages too.  We had the magpie room comfy double out of the way.  No trouble parking but to be honest we didn't use the car from arrival Wednesday afternoon to leaving Friday morning.  Can imagine that may change during peak season but a perfect time to visit.  Experienced all weathers in those 2 full days but managed to stay warm & dry.

Fantastic hotel! We would definitely stay here again. The staff were lovely, and the food was excellent. Our room was warm and comfortable with everything we needed - a few cobwebs and a dusty vase lost them a star on cleanliness. Overall though, we loved it and would highly recommend!

The Ashford Arms is a lovely friendly cosy Hotel. Our room the Aisseford suite was ver spacious and comfortable. The staff were very attentive and there was always someone around to help us.

Gorgeous hotel! We stayed for one night, friendly staff and lovely room which was clean. Hotel bar and restaurant lovely and breakfast very good. Not too far from Bakewell, we had a walk in and called at Thornbridge brewery on the way. We would definitely stay again.

A thoroughly enjoyable overnight stay at this boutique hotel.We stayed in a junior suite which was very comfortable and spacious. Slight niggle that the loo flush requires attention and there was an absence of facial tissue which we would expect to find in a hotel of this standard but it did not detract too much from our stay.Our evening Meal of home made chicken and mushroom pie followed by chefs own Bakewell tart with raspberry ice cream was delicious.

What a little gem The Ashford Arms was. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the rooms very nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. Dining was a pleasure with an interesting menu and the food was fantastic. At breakfast the menu was also very nice and varied and the full breakfast excellent.Good location for visiting Chatsworth, Bakewell etc would definitely recommend a stay.

A really great stay.

Devonshire suite was amazing. The entrance into the room felt so welcoming with the radio playing and the welcome note with chocolates left on the table was a nice touch. The bed was incredibly comfortable, we both slept very well. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and the food was pretty good there too.

Can't fault this place!

Loved the homely cottage feel, decor was amazing. Comfortable bed. Small touches - water by bed, robes, nespresso coffee machine, fan in room. Breakfast was excellent and so was dinner - eaten at lots of places and that was up there. Would definitely recommend and return ourselves. A gym would be nice but just knit picking

Beautiful little inn, but unfortunately was too hot! Booked a room here with partner for one night. Place was beautiful and staff were lovely, but the room was stiflingly hot. Tried to cool it down but to no avail, and eventually felt we had to cancel our reservation. Staff were understanding and helpful throughout, circumstances simply beyond their control.Wouldnt go during the summer but would definitely go again during a cooler period.

We stayed for 1 night to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary. Our first impressions were that it had a lovely buzz about it and the hotel had been refurbished to a very high standard. The staff were extremely polite, friendly and helpful. Our room was immaculate and had all of the facilities one would expect. Having checked in we decided to join the buzz by having a drink in a beautiful lounge bar. We then had an evening meal which was excellent, the waiting staff were very friendly and helpful. Overall a wonderful experience, will visit again.

It’s a nice inn in a small quiet village with beautiful views if you explore the area. There is a bus stop in front of the hotel.If you are an American who will not be driving, no Uber coverage.  We found the hard way.  I suggest to add it in the description about no Uber coverage but there is a taxi which needs to be pre-booked, it can get busy.  We tried to call a taxi, we were told by the taxi company that they will not be  able to pick us up from the hotel until 4 hours later. It’s a nice place, just need to know those details.  We didn’t get much help from the reception about getting a taxi or about Uber.

This is a very nice little hotel in a great location for activities in the Peaks. Hotel is well decorated and looks recently refurbished. Room was comfy and well decked out although the specific one we had was a little noisy due to the proximity to the kitchen cooling units outside. We had a 3 course meal with drinks and breakfast; the food was excellent throughout. They could do with one extra member of staff as people seemed to be working the front desk, dining, bar etc, all at the same time, even on a quiet Sunday morning. Nothing detracted, however, and it was a really pleasant overnight stay. Highly recommended!

The hotel combines the charm of an old building with the quality of experience you would expect from a modern hotel. Attention has clearly been paid to delivering a high quality customer experience.
