Small flat, but quite luxurious in its bedlinen and towels, with welcoming eggs, milk, tea and coffee, and more.  A problem with the wifi was sorted straight away very soon after I reported it.  Also in a great position next to the promenade.  I'll definitely stay there the next time I'm in Penzance.

We stayed in a lovely clean self catering apartment (upstairs) with the most gorgeous sea views.   Also we were made to feel so welcome by the added touches that were thoughtfully left for us. We hope to come again soon! Thank you Lyn!

On our arrival in the pouring rain we were met by Lynn who immediately made us welcome offering to move her car so we could unload all our luggage. We were visiting with friends and had both apartments. They were both immaculate furnished to a high standard. We primarily used the upstairs one which has a great sea view over the promenade .
Lynn was a mind of useful information including where to eat. She left us the food to make our own breakfast which included eggs bread cereal and fresh fruit. We would definitely stay here again if visiting Penzance.

Sophias only has 3 rooms so you have to be on the ball to book ! The b n b is right on the front so in a prime location.The room we had was just lovely n had everything you would want.The room was small but this is mainly down to the large and very VERY!!!!! comfortable bed.The shower and indeed the bathroom are excellent.
Lynn,the owner is a lovely,pleasant and very knowledgable lady for the local area and the choice for breakfast is very good indeed and all cooked fresh.
Over all an excellent place to stay and would highly recommend Sophias bed & breakfast as an excellent base to explore Cornwall !

We have just spent 4 nights at Sophia’s b&b and we’re thoroughly spoilt!
Lynn the owner makes you feel so welcome and we were kindly upgraded to the amazing apartment which overlooks the sea. The bed and bedding were so comfortable, and the place was spotlessly clean.
Lynn’s breakfasts and chats are lovely! A bowl of fruit accompanied by yoghurt and her homemade granola followed by a cooked breakfast (from smoked salmon and eggs, bacon sandwiches or a full English) were delicious.
We had a wonderful time and thank Lynn for being a beacon of knowledge for the area and making our time in Cornwall so lovely!

Things to know- immediately outside you can park for 30 mins to drop off your luggage and then there is free off street parking on the surrounding streets and on the promenade.


Sis Karen and I stayed overnight en-route from Southampton to the Scillies!  Owner Lynn there is as lovely as family member Helen at Fraser's restaurant next door and, what's more, you get 10% off your meal. The food is highly recommended. I was a leading hotelier in my heyday and trust me when I say that you won't be disappointed - any more than you will be with Lynn's home-made/hand-cooked brekkie which is second to none.

Lynn is a wonderfully warm human being and honestly couldn't do enough to make us more welcome and comfortable. Because we couldn't get a taxi to Penzance harbour she even ran our luggage there for us!

We booked well in advance so I suggest you do the same to avoid being pipped to the post!

We stayed 5 nights in this extremelly well located and lovely B&B. As we didn't know the area at all and we randomly picked a "near the center B&B" available for our entire stay. 
But we were so pleased with our choice, the location is top-notch, opposite to Promenade, our bedroom Zelah was nice on the first floor facing the sea, big window, the bed was very comfortable and the room was very good size with everything you need. The bathoroom was modern, big and bright. The breakfast has choices and our host (Lynn) catered specially for you.  In our opinion is an excellent value for money, A special thanks for Lynn (the owner) for making our stay such a joy!! 20/09/19

We had previously stayed at Sophias a few years ago. So we rang to see if Lynn still had the B & B and to our delight she did. Our previous stays had been superb and we looked forward to more of the same. On our arrival we were met by Lynn and a good chat, we then went up to our room, we had stayed in this room previously and the high standard had been maintained, the Zelah has a wonderful sea view together with all the facilities that you require. Lynn provides an excellent breakfast, We were fortunate to have sampled the delights of her small restaurant some time ago so the standard of breakfast did not disappoint, she is an excellent chef. All in all this B & B is excellent value for money well situated in Penzance  with good restaurants nearby for Lunch, Dinner etc. and a real good pub around the corner!  we would love to return one day and we would stay with Lynn again at sophias without hesitation or reservation.   

We enjoyed our stay very much. A friendly and warm welcome. Loved the breakfast and enjoyed the fresh fruit starter.
Our room was a small double, which was made clear when we booked. It was on the ground floor which was ideal for my wife. Lynn was a mine of information of local places to see, and she very kindly loaned us a blanket for our visit to the Minack Theatre.

A delightful B&B on seafront in Penzance.  My husband and I stayed there end of June 2018 for 4 nights.  Lovely spacious bedroom and spacious ensuite bathroom with huge shower.  Clean and comfortable. Great breakfasts cooked by the lovely host who was always welcoming and helpful with finding interesting places to visit in the area.  I would recommend it and definitely stay there again.

Sophia's B&B Penzance - A great little find

We had the pleasure of staying for 2 nights recently. A phone call in the morning to advise us that our room was ready and waiting. And although we did not arrive until 7pm the owner was waiting (we had already exchanged texts to confirm *late* arrival) to welcome us. Beautiful room, tastefully decorated, good mattress, nice cotton bed linen, good size, modern en-suite bathroom with lovely towels and even bathrobes. AND we had a sea-view! Breakfast was a delight, fresh fruit salad, greek yoghurt & honey followed by a choice of pretty much anything you wanted from cereal to a full english. Honestly, I cannot find a single negative thing to say, even the weather was fabulous! I would highly recommend Sophia's if you need a base to visit the beautiful coasts of Cornwall. Thank you for looking after us!
