Waves Rooms

I was looking for somewhere to stay in Padstow for the May Day celebrations and was having trouble finding anywhere open or at reasonable cost. I then came across "Waves Rooms" in St Merryn, just three miles out on the Newquay "B" road, what a great little find. St Merryn is just three miles from Padstow, it has a pub, a fish and chip shop good takeaways and is on a bus route. So if like me you want to leave your car at Waves and go into Padstow it's no problem. The bus stop is literally two minutes walk. The Lady that runs Waves is welcoming and helpful. The accommodation is based on three rooms, nicely appointed with the use of a shared lounge. There is no cooked breakfast available but you do get a breakfast pack including cereals, yogurts, fruit juice and fruit. There is a small fridge, tea and coffee is plentiful. The bedroom we had was small but cosy and clean with some nice touches, you could say the accommodation is "boutique." The shower room was of a good size with quality toiletries. The area is quite and handy for visiting other places in the area too. Parking is in a large carpark at the rear. There is a Thai and a Chinese takeaway in St Merryn also, the menus are in the lounge and they are situated just a few minutes walk away. You are welcome to use the plates an cutlery provided along with a microwave on the landing. There is a small outdoor terrace too with seating. I would not hesitate to recommend. We had a very enjoyable stay.
