easyHotel Newcastle

Attracted by an amazingly low price on Booking.com nearly a year ago, which was even cheaper than the chain's own website, i booked a small group of friends into the Newcastle Easyhotel for a mid week break. The hotel is fantastically positioned close to the Quayside and has numerous pubs/restaurants in very close proximity. Special shoutouts go to the No 1 Queen St cafe for amazing breakfasts and Unos for their evening meals. On arriving at the hotel we were greeted by the friendly face of Shabz. What an absolute star and credit she is to the hotel. Shabz could not have been more helpful during our stay and was always happy to have a laugh & joke every morning when we left the hotel to explore. The rooms were much larger than others I have stayed in elsewhere for the same chain. There were even 4 proper coathangers rather than the metal shaped ones I am more used to. The rooms were clean and everything in them worked. What more can you ask for? There was even air conditioning which was a bonus considering we stayed in the middle of a heatwave. I'd have no hesitation in returning to this hotel. We stayed 4 nights and barely scratched the surface of what there was to enjoy in the city/region. A metro to the coast, a train down to Durham and a walk up to Ouseburn are three things I would certainly encourage any visitors to add to their lists. What a find!
