Tranquil log cabin with beautiful views over Loch Lochy. The owners, Brian and Will, could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Seeing the pine marten was an unexpected bonus. Breakfasting on the veranda, feeding the finches and watching the occasional yacht pass by - perfect, come rain or shine.

What a beautiful place to stay with amazing views from the lodge and so peaceful. The lodge was cosy and comfortable and had everything we needed for a family of 4. Brian and will were friendly hosts and helpful. We took lots of amazing trips in the local area and beyond and are looking forward to returning in the future.

We had a great stay here - such a peaceful, beautiful place. Our lodge was really comfortable, spotlessly clean, lots of little touches that made it homely and even a little reading room to escape to. The pine marten visited us every night along with a mouse to eat up the crumbs left behind, and a chaffinch joined me on the deck for coffee every morning in the sunshine. Will and Brian were wonderful hosts with great advice and delicious cake, so helpful and welcoming. The perfect place if you need to get away from it all. Also highly recommend Active Highs just down the road for river activities, fantastic guys and brilliant fun.

Amazing location. Lodge was very clean, spacious  and well equipped. Grounds well maintained. Absolutely blown away with seeing the Pine Martens each night. Brian and Will, the owners of the lodges couldn't be nicer, even left us a home baked lemon drizzle cake !

Heather Lodge is an amazing place and William is a fantastic host. The property is situated amongst the beauty of the Highlands. With stunning views of Loch Lochy amongst Great Glenn way, was just fantastic. Very peacful surroundings.

William listed some lovely walks and activities for the local and surrounding areas, which we took advantage of and were grateful for the suggestion.

The cabin was clean and gave everything we needed for our stay there. If we needed anything else, we found we could reach out to William.

Such a great place and will be recomending to others and hope we can return back again.



A fabulous stay! The lodge was perfect for our family (including our Labrador!). We had amazing views in a clean and well kitted home for the week. We enjoyed visits from the Pine Martens (thank you for the peanut butter Brian!) whilst we tucked into a lovely homemade lemon drizzle cake. The private access to the Loch gave us some adventures on our doorstep whilst having a great base to explore other places in the Highlands. Brian and Will we're fab hosts, thank you and keep doing what you're doing 🤩

We had a lovely family holiday at Great Glen Lodges. Brian was an excellent host who was happy to help us with anything but never intrusive. The lodge was very  comfortable and beautiful. We really appreciated the delicious lemon drizzle cake. 
The lodges are in such a wonderful location with easy access to the loch and very peaceful. We enjoyed fishing, swimming, kayaking and cycling. The weather was great and we didn't suffer from midges ! I would recommend you organise getting your food supplies  in advance so that you don't have to waste time driving to shops and have more time to just soak in the beautiful surroundings.

Third visit to a truly tranquil location. Owners can't do enough for you. Wildlife superb with regular Pine Martens, golden Eagle overhead as well as Peregrine. The view spectacular. We even saw the Top gear team filming at Invergarry. Useful info for some exc walks nearby. Back next year

We've recently returned from our 4th stay at Great Glen Lodges.  We absolutely love coming here to get away from the hustle and bustle.  The location is beautiful and it's an incredibly relaxing place to visit.  Brian and Will are really lovely hosts and the accommodation is always spotless.  Their COVID precautions were brilliant.  The lodges are a great base to explore the highlands or just somewhere to rest and relax and enjoy the spectacular view.  We will definitely be returning!

Wonderful place

Idyllic place to stay

I came to the lodge just last week and left today.  The hosts were so welcoming and amazing, with the added lemon drizzle cake they home made. Beautiful people. The lodges themselves were very cosy and relaxing, the surrounding area's can keep you busy with beautiful views and friendly people.  Definitely worth a stay and I will 100% be coming back.  Thanks for the relaxing time, exactly what I needed. Only wish I could of stayed longer. Absolutely loved it!!!

The Best

We had such a lovely peaceful stay at Thistle Lodge. It was the perfect break that was needed for a staycation. Brian and Will were both so welcoming and like other reviewers have mentioned, they welcomed us with a very tasty lemon drizzle cake! It was the warmest welcome :)
They have looked after the place so well. The lodge was spotlessly clean and there is a very informative welcome pack when you enter as well. They were also very helpful whenever we needed anything. A definite must place to stay. Can't recommend it enough. Thank you both!
