A Castle View B & B

We stayed for one night on our way to Orkney.
 Everything was great from the quality of the accommodation to the friendly owners. The location is brilliant affording wonderful views over the coast but only 5 minutes by car to the local town if you need anything. We had a light breakfast of scrambled eggs and smoked salmon which was delicious and the other guests full Scottish looked great too.
We would heartily recommend a stay here.

Had a lovely stay at A Castle View, views are stunning, Maree and Christine are excellent hosts nothing to much trouble. We had to get up early to catch a ferry but they accommodated breakfast for us. Room was lovely and clean always asking if we needed anything for the room. Excellent stay.

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Maree and Christine are lovely - they sincerely care about their B&B, their guests and everything they offer in the B&B. They are such professionals, along with a sincete personal touch! Breakfast is delicious and easily organised; you let them know the day in advance which of the options you'd like and they prepare it fresh every morning. Along with a buffet of tea/coffee/fruit/yoghurts/juices, everything is there. Shower is great, rooms are incredibly clean and everything you can think of is provided. And, obviously, the location and views are perfect!! We have not seen a hotel or B&B with these high standards and this excellent value for money during our entire 2-week trip in Scotland. The B&B is in a very quiet location with an excellent view to the sea.Yet, it is only a few minutes' drive away from a good pub/restaurant. Our room was spacious, well equipped with a comfortable seating area and very clean. Breakfast was excellent with some very unusual but very tasty options (poached egg on baby spinach). Parking was available, WiFi worked perfectly. Maree was very friendly at any time.

This place is outstanding. Our room did have a view of the castle, very comfortable twin beds, the bathroom and bedroom were very clean and nicely outfitted. The breakfast had the usual offerings; cereals, fruit, yogurt and a hot breakfast cooked to order. The hosts were very friendly!

Ladies running the B&B are lovely and welcoming. Place is clean, tidy and well kept. We stayed in room 3 and the A castle room upstairs. Both were lovely rooms. You can tell they put pride into the B&B and that is nice to see.  We also had breakfast in the morning which was great before a long journey ahead of us and you could have as much as you wanted (within reason of course). All in all it is an excellent place to stay if you’re in Keiss or nearby. We were doing the NC500 so it was a great overnight stay for us!

This b&b is an absolute gem on the upper east coast. We stayed here for the last night of our trip round the nc500 and could not fault it. It is a lovely modern building with beautiful views over the coast. Maree was a fantastic host and breakfast was superb - we wanted for nothing. Would thoroughly recommend and hope to stay again some time.

Great place to stay over I booked it after reading other reviews on here all of which were great and they were correct great hosts, rooms and a stunning view will certainly use again when passing next time thank you

Maree runs a really nice B&B.  The room we had was spacious, very clean and nicely decorated.  The nightly rate is very good, particularly with the excellent full Scottish breakfast that was provided.  All round great place to stay.

Quiet stay on the North Coast

Best NC500 stop off ever! 

April 2023 - A Castle View

We stayed here on our tour of North Scotland coast.
This lovely gem of a place is situated just a few miles from John o groats & about a mile from the village keiss.
The rooms were clean & welcoming with selections of tea/coffee/biscuits in the room, tv etc, the host was very friendly & helpful & the breakfast was amazing as were the views.
Would highly recommend staying here if you're driving the nc500 or just holidaying near John o groats.

Hidden gem

I stayed here during my trip doing the North Coast 500 with my partner and 2 other couples. We were the only couple who stayed here the night we did. The other couples camped and stayed elsewhere. 
I would say the others missed out by not staying here. 
The staff were lovely and so tentative. 
The place is beautiful and I would highly recommend staying here.  
I was impressed with my room, the decor, how clean it was and the view from my room was gorgeous.

North Coast 500 trip

From the moment we arrived we felt welcomed and knew we had made the right decision to book Marie's B and B.  The house itself was lovely and the views outstanding. Room was lovely and clean. Breakfast was absolutely perfect before we set out to hike and explore the North Coast. Would highly recommend A Castle View B & B!!!
