15 of us stayed for a big family birthday. The house was great with plenty of space and areas for socialising, plus the hot tub was an added bonus! We had a lovely weekend together and wouldn’t hesitate to rebook.

We visited Greenbank Farm earlier this month, after a lovely but too short stay in September 2019!

We stayed for two nights this time and booked Farm View. The room was lovely, beautifully decorated with an adjoining room which opened straight into the car park which was handy for muddy boots and wet dogs!

The continental breakfast was the best we’ve had anywhere - and I would highly recommend the cheese and bacon scones which were amazing!

There is plenty to do in and around Cartmel, and the Lake District National park is only a short drive away.

Overall we had a lovely stay and would highly recommend Greenbank Farm!

Having booked the freisian experience for my wife, I also booked the on site B&B which didn’t disappoint us. An amazing stay in the farm view room and we were made very welcome by all. Very good location and highly recommend.


Spent one night here, the room was spotless, the views breathtaking and every family member we met were welcoming and really helpful.  The breakfast was delicious with a great selection, would highly recommend a stay here

Just back from a one night stay at Greenbank Farm. 

We stayed in Paddock view and the room was spotless and spacious.  The shared bathroom was huge and also spotless, and was always free when we wanted to use it.  Our dog was very welcome and enjoyed having a fuss made of him!

Our hosts were very accommodating and kindly left out some food for us for breakfast as we had a very early start.  Cartmel is a short walk away and there are plenty of places to eat there, including L’enclume and a number of dog friendly pubs (we ate at the Kings Arms and would recommend).

The only thing wrong with our stay was that it was too short! So we will be back in February for a longer stay :)

we stayed for 1 night this week having seen this hotel come up a few times. Views amazing, 15 minute walk to Cartmel. On arrival we were upgraded to the bigger room with its outdoor entrance at no extra cost as the lady knew we were bringing 2 dogs which was a nice touch.

Everyone really nice and friendly, and breakfast amazing the next morning.  Would definitely book again

Just spent a 2 night stay to attend our friends wedding. Excellent b & b with fantastic views and ideally located for the lake district. The farm is still active with beautiful Friesian horses in the fields below. Excellent continental breakfast, comfy rooms and the owners are very helpful.

Apologies for delay,My stay was brilliant!.  I thorough enjoyed my stay. The area was just wow, the taxi services also were friendly and very good at telling what areas to explore.  I was there for a wedding which was absolutely fabulous

Set in beautiful country side with wonderful views of the valley from our bedroom. The farm house is beautiful with many original features still kept. The owner, Sylvia, is warm and friendly. In wish we could have stayed longer.

Absolutely a gem of a place. We were made to feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Location is so perfect with stunning views. Food, accommodation, people, horses and dogs all lovely! Would definitely recommend to anyone it is a must if you are looking to stay in this area. Thank you to all at Greenbanks we wanted to stay longer, A+

Weekend Away

Greenbank Farm offers a pleasant stay with warm and welcoming hosts in a lovely spot above Cartmel village.  The room was comfortable with a nice view across the neighbouring fields and hills.  Breakfast was good - excellent fruit, cereals and yoghurt - although the much heralded bacon and cheese scones were a little on the chewy side.  The en-suite facilities were good with an excellent shower.  Beds were remade but tea making leftovers were not cleared and wet bath mat not replaced but otherwise this was an enjoyable stay in very pleasant surroundings.

Nice location, friendly welcome, comfortable room, lovely horses.

We were visiting Ayside, Cartmel on 9th April, for a 'Walking with Wolves' Predator Experience as praised by John Craven of Country File and we wanted a stop over on the 8th April somewhere close by. Greenbank Farm was highly recommended and only 9 minutes away from our final destination. We were able to arrive at Greenbank an hour early by arrangement, which gave us more time to relax after our drive up and we were met with the most friendly of welcomes by our host and some beautiful Friesian Horses in the nearby paddock. We were then able to explore the pretty village of Cartmel, wander down the riverbank and have some early evening food and drinks before returning to our room which was very nice with an en suite, a very comfortable bed and a wonderful view. After a good sleep and a delicious breakfast we said hello again to some of the superb Friesian Horses that are stabled there, before heading off to our appointment with Wolves and Foxes at Predator Experience, which was fab! An altogether excellent couple of days and a pleasure to stay at Greenbank Farm. We thoroughly recommend the whole experience!!


'Walking with Wolves' Predator Experience

I booked this place for my mother for her birthday weekend. I’m not gonna lie, her standards are high and I was a little nervous. Here is what she text me this morning 

Please leave great feedback about the B&B - spotlessly clean, really comfortable bed, great quality china cups in the bedroom. Lovely friendly host and we really appreciated being able to check in more than an hour early. Breakfast was wonderful - in fact no negatives at all xx

Listen to my Mother!

We stayed here just for one night, on a recent last minute trip up to The Lakes. We arrived late, thanks to hold ups on the M6. We called to advise we'd be a little late, and it was no problem at all, which was nice. 
We were travelling with our dog, and stayed in the Valley View room. They had advised us that Valley View was a little small, particularly with a dog, and maybe it would be if staying a week or more, but we found it no problem at all. It  is fairly small but benefits from it's own entrance area, which is really useful for putting stuff in, and that makes the room itself plenty big enough.
Close to Cartmel, where we popped in to for dinner. 
Breakfast was served in their lovely breakfast kitchen room, and was really nice. No traditional 'fry-up' when we visited, but there were freshly baked cheese and bacon scones and Danish pastries which made a really nice change. 
We would recommend Greenbank Farm, and I only wish I'd had chance to book a ride on their gorgeous horses - maybe next time!

Lovely B&B & dog friendly.

We wanted to stay over in the Lake District after dropping our daughter off at university. We had our dog with us and were all made very welcome in this lovely clean and friendly B&B. The room had a lovely view. Breakfast was superb, much more than your usual continental style, and the owners were very friendly and helpful.

Green bank Farm is a 20 minute walk downhill into Cartmel village and has stunning scenic views from the front garden. We received a very warm, lovely welcome from the owner on our arrival & she provided a delicious continental breakfast during our stay - so many different fruits, croissants, rolls and a really tasty Bavarian donker bread that she told us was from a baker’s shop in Grange over Sands.......we went there later to buy a loaf to bring home because we enjoyed it so much. The farmhouse is one of character, the beds and pillows in our well equipped bedroom were very comfortable and we were in the Paddock Room which overlooked a stable where a Shetland Pony was resident. In that room you have to share the spacious bathroom with the owner which was no problem at all for us. We will be returning again, having obtained the Cartmel Race dates for next year from Greenbank Farm’s owner. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here to others.
