myself and 3 friends stayed at the B&B for one night on a motorbike trip and it was fantastic. on arrival we were able to park the bikes out of the way and when we checked in we were greeted by the owner and she was ace. the rooms were very nice and spacious and the bed very comfortable indeed. the breakfast was a traditional Scottish breakfast with all the trimmings and it set us up for a days riding.

The location is also spot on only a 2 mins walk to all the pubs on the canal side will definitely stay there again.

The wonderful Carol has been running this immaculate B&B almost singlehandedly for all the years we have been coming to Fort Augustus.
The location is spectacular overlooking the Caledonian Canal Locks or is that Lochs ?In the centre of this pretty vibrant village full of boats and people and dogs and Chinese &Swiss & Russians & everyone you could imagine ! Well done Carol !

A Breakfast fit for a King - well a Count anyway !!

We booked through booking.com and were informed that our room (for the night of our 10th Wedding anniversary when we were through hiking the Great Glen!) had been cancelled, no explanation given and 8 weeks later no refund either. Avoid at all costs there is clearly some kind of scam as it's a repeat pattern looking at other reviews.

Cancelled the room two days before

We had arranged to stay here on our North Coast 500 road trip. We arrived at 5pm, nobody answered the door. The door was not locked, so we stepped in with plenty of "hellos". Eventually the owner appeared and questioned why we were ringing her door bell at 7 in the morning! We told her that we had booked to stay that night, to which she replied that she had emailed me the day before to cancel our stay. (An aside: We did not see any email. Hoping that someone touring the Highlands, where there is minimal or no signal, will receive the message is optimistic. We eventually found the email in "spam", it was sent without a subject). She said that she had cancelled because she was ill and that she was confused "due to her medication". I would have expected that any hotelier cancelling would have tried to arrange alternative accommodation, but she was adamant that there was no other accommodation available in Fort Augustus and that we would have to return to Inverness or explore accommodation in "Fort Bill". I have never felt so disappointed. But the premises seemed very tired and run down and did not reflect some of the more positive reviews on TA. Regardless, we did find alternative accommodation and what a bonus! See my other review for Fort Augustus. All's well that ends well!

My room was also cancelled on the arrival day.... just a few hours before check in time. No alternative was offered. 
I’m still waiting for the refund - and there was just one short answer to my emails so far. Sad experience...

We had this accommodation booked for last week but alas she cancelled on the day. She did at least refund us the money straight away and arrange alternative accommodation.

Take note of the previous reviews and book somewhere else.
