Carswell Country Club B&B

We visited the small town of Faringdon to visit a distant aquaintance and this B&B looked like the best place to stay even though we are not golfers. The grounds are beautiful as you would expect. Our room looked out onto the course with a great view. Food at the hotel was mainly standard Brit pub fare but prepared with care and pride.The small staff (Carol, Emily, Vanessa and Derek the golf pro) became more than hotel staff. We spent hours after closing time just talking and enjoying each other's company. Our room was thoughtfully appointed and kept very clean. They even did our laundry for us. Derek introduced us to a neighbor who had a small motorcycle factory (Rickman-Metisse) that he was pleased to tour us through as well as his house that has been a-building for 20 years and is still unfinished although he is living in an apartment on the third floor. We would recommend this hotel to anyone but if you are a golfer or a racing motorcycle fan, there are big bonuses.
