55 reviewsA last minute business trip (found out at lunch for that evening) saw me stay here last night and I’m so glad I did. I checked availability on line and called about 4pm to book. The gentleman I spoke with confirmed it was ok for me to arrive “out of normal hours” (circa 10pm) and that parking was available for my extra long van. On arrival I was warmly greeted and shown to my Studio room. The room was spotlessly clean with a comfortable king bed, bathroom with walk in power shower and it’s own kitchen area with fridge, oven, microwave, kettle and associated crockery, cutlery and drinking glasses. There was also a small dining table with 2 chairs, a sofa and tv. Also in the room was a fan, hairdryer and iron and ironing board. Whilst I didn’t use the kitchen area and/or the other items had I stayed more than one night or arrived earlier I probably would have. Although my room overlooked a fairly busy road a good night sleep followed although I suspect in the summer you might not be able to sleep with the windows open. Come morning, although I hadn’t booked the hostess was more than happy to fit me in for breakfast with a small but suitable selection of cereal, toast, juice and hot offerings. (Cooked to order). The breakfast food I ordered was hot and cooked well. Perfect to start the day. I established that they do evening meals too if residents don’t want to use the kitchen facilities in their room with the menu I saw offering typical “pub grub” offerings (steak, burgers, scampi, fish pie, lasagne etc) at very reasonable prices. They are also licensed so you can have a glass of something chilled with your meal (or without eating ) should you wish. Many of my previous reviews question if I would stay here again if on business this way or if I’d stay with my wife on a non business visit and the answer to both would be yes! It was a lovely find and I hope that either work or holiday finds me in this area sometime soon so I can stay again. If I do, I’ll endeavour to arrive earlier and stay longer!
