Stayed here as I was working the Great North Run.   Far enough away to not have a ridiculous price, but close enough to get where I needed in plenty of time.   Great location, loads of parking. View of the lake is lovely, definitely go for a lake view if they're available.

Stayed here for our anniversary weekend to visit family. Beautiful location in the Queen Elizabeth II country park.staff where helpful and friendly, room and bathroom where clean. Amble and Alnwick castle and gardens a short drive away overall a lovely weekend

Room wise 100% what you expect from Premier Inns. Everything else.... 10x better! Staff all warm and very friendly (it's the North East, it's how it is!) Food was cracking (Katsu loaded fries, changed my life!) And the location is the greatest! Right by the lake, plenty of wildlife and friendly birds to feed and footpaths to lead you about and walk off your tea. Worth the diversion off the A1 if you are passing thru, and spot on as a base for getting into Newcastle or any of the coastal spots.

Comfortable bed perfect shower and amazing location for walks. Away from the hustle of a town centre was great also. The staff went above and beyond also.

Good quality as ever. Good service, clean and quiet location with good access to the whole county - just what's needed for when I visit for work as on this occasion or when we come for a short break to explore as a family. 
The location is great in the country park and seeing the swans is always a bonus.

Very easy to book which we was travelling down for our adventure sea fishing and thought carnt stay in van so very easy simple to book online very happ friendly staff when arrived very helpful will be staying here again.

We stayed at this hotel due to having an early hospital appointment in Wansbeck General Hospital it was a perfect location for doing this as it was a less than ten minute drive away which made getting there for our appointment so much easier so if your looking for a hotel never Wansbeck general I highly recommend. On top of the location the staff were lovely 

Ashington is on the main coastal road to visit Bamburgh, Alnwick, Seahouses etc so is perfect as a stop-over for a couple of nights. Despite the inexpensive cost, don't be put off: the location itself is pretty stunning by daylight, the rooms are up to the usual high standard of comfort and the staff are lovely and willing to respond to any query. There is a huge restaurant/bar attached with an excellent choice of good, reasonable priced food. Be aware that locals use it too for breakfasts and evening meals, so do book in advance else you might be left without a table at all, and there is nowhere else to dine within 2 miles.

Loved staying here. A warm friendly welcome on arrival with good quality of service throughout my stay. Lovely , clean rooms made for a comfortable relaxing stay. Ample parking with a park and lake right on the doorstep. Would not hesitate to stay again. 

Car park had lots of spaces on arrival at 9pm ish. Reception were friendly and we were checked in quickly. Hotel was quiet. Room was spotless and heating was fab. Room and bedding cosy. Bathroom and shower were fab. Fab stay for a family, thank you.

I'm a regular for a reason - it's good

Just what we needed

My partner and stayed at the Premier Inn in Ashington for two nights. We a had a pleasant. Staff are very helpful. Rooms are a bit dated but clean. Only one socket at the side of the bed. Plenty of pillows and spare quilts under the bed. USB plug under TV didn't work. Decent shower and the bed was comfortable. We didn't have the best room as it faced on to a main road. We would stay here again but next time we stay we will ask for a room facing the lake as the one we had faced on to a main road. 

We had a great stay at the Premier Inn Ashington. We would stay here again

Recommended stop-over

We stayed to incorporate an activity we booked. We wanted to be close to family nearby and not too far from our activity.
We had a pleasant stay food was good staff very friendly and any questions we had were answered.
Room was good size we were on the road side of hotel we could hear the traffic when there was some but wasn’t a nuisance 
Hotel was very quiet and peaceful.
Only issue we had was our heeatubg didn’t get very warm and our shower was more of a trickle but wasn’t enough for us to raise an issue with as we were still warm enough and managed to shower or bathe as required. 

Little break

We stayed here last week end, first time for me.
Staff were very friendly, especially Lisa  on reception whom she had remembered my partner staying there before. Our room was very nice, clean and comfy. We ate at the beefeater next door, Friday evening's food was okay, unfortunately Saturday lunch wasn't very nice, cannelloni was supposed to be covered in a cheese sauce, looked more like crumble as so dry, smallest pot of chopped salad I've ever seen, 12 chips.  !! Not the most appetising. 
Had a great roast lunch on Sunday, in a pub just a couple of miles away.
All in all it was a good weekend. As we were going home on the Monday morning, we said goodbye to Lisa and wished her all the best in her new career.

Family  weekend

I stayed the weekend with my husband Christopher Larkin, who has been staying at this hotel for work in the area for a couple of weeks. We both love this area of the country and have visited many times. The staff her are exceptional with every single member of staff being friendly and helpful. There is one member of staff who has gone above and beyond to help with our stay and that is Laura, she organised our stay to continue in the room my husband had stayed in that week without him needing to pack up etc (as the weekend booking was separate from the work paid booking during the week) they cleaned the room and left extra towels etc and made sure the room was ready for my arrival even if Chris wasn’t back from work. The hotel is clean and well managed and our room was facing the lake in front and I would without doubt stay here again when in the area. Fantastic staff.
