The Mansion House Hotel

The stay was cool but compared to the outside the interior felt bare. Would love to talk to you about how to improve it as I design museums and historical interiors. A few key things in the common spaces would make the place much more memorable and less (in a negative way) dated. We can switch it to make it dated in the best of ways.

Great stay in a lovely hotel near town with great service - and best scrambled eggs ever!

Big spacious rooms, furnished to building style - time has worn down the features/walls and the bathroom needed repairs but it was usable.Great night sleep and good breakfast!

Lovely staff, especially on check-in & at Breakfast.  Stay here regularly when working in the area.  It's a gorgeous old building but the staff make it a nice place to stay.

Mansion House Hotel is an unexpected gem. The team are all friendly and approachable, room was of good standard and clean, breakfast was plentiful and tasty. We would happily stay again.

Beautiful old home, warm & welcoming. We stayed in off season so restaurant & bar closed but staff accommodated drinks & take away for us. Breakfast was available so ate in restaurant then checked out without any issues. Comfortable bed and spacious room & bathroom. Had a very enjoyable stay thanks to staff!

Loved the proximity to the core of the town. The hotel had very friendly staff like Shahad. The rooms were very nice.

Great but make it stellar!

The hotel is advertised as 4 star.I am sure at its peak (a number of years ago) it was worthy of this rating.However, this is certainly not the case now.It is a shame as the building has lots of character and the lounge and other reception and social spaces are presented in a grand house manner.Our bedroom was very clean and the bed very comfortable as well as a very nice ensuite bathroom.The only issue with the room as well as the hotel is that it all seems to need brightening up and refreshed...The issue with the facilities is that there is no restaurant in the evening, no bar and virtually no staff around the hotel!However, the hotel does offer a well staffed breakfast room with plenty of options on the menu, great attentive staff and I'm guessing the owner/manager pleasantly greeting all guests in the foyer.The whole experience left us with mixed feelings as we didn’t necessarily have a bad stay and there were plenty of positives, added to some frustrating negatives.

The highs and lows of Mansion House

Property looks great in pictures but rooms are a bit run down (rain shower was not working, furniture was well used).   However staff were excellent.  Buffet and fresh cooked breakfast were great.   Plenty of parking.  Close walk to tesco and Main Street.  Very quiet location. A bit on the high end of price.

I would certainly recommend this hotel. Beautiful entrance and beautiful building.  Easy walking distance to town and there is a nice walk over couple of bridges from hotel over the river and through boating fields. The reception area feels a bit as though it needs tlc….  And other areas of the hotel the same. Pool and film are closed. Downstairs wash room facilities really could do with an update. Our room certainly had the WOW factor when we opened the door (15)   Looked great.  Noticed later little things like the curtain pelmetboard material was completely rotten and in pieces….  Why even leave it there?   Breakfast was ok, not amazing but perfectly acceptable.

Worth staying here

It was a beautiful mansion hotel with a lot of character. The staff was wonderful.  Especially the gentleman serving breakfast.  He was a delight.  Our room was huge, although we overheard a guest complain theirs was small, so the rooms do vary.  Breakfast was very good.  We enjoyed our stay so much!

Mansion House was a really great overall experience. Khawar and the team really made us feel like it was a home away from home. The staff went out of their way at every step to ensure we enjoyed our stay.The building itself and the property is beautifully kept, and the design inside the building and rooms preserves enough of the historical and combines it with the comforts needed to ensure a pleasant experience. The Lounge was a favorite of ours... It was the perfect location to relax in and read a book or sip a scotch and chat after a busy day visiting Speyside distilleries. The mac and cheese and the mushroom risotto at the Haugh restaurant on site were strong favorites (and David, who manages it, can hold a great conversation if you catch him when the place isn't too full).When, not if, we return to Scotland, we will definitely be making a trip to Speyside again, and will be staying at Mansion House!

Wonderful experience all round!

Stayed recently for a party. Service was excellent and they couldn’t do more for you. Room was lovely with a huge sleigh bed. Some areas a bit worn out and in need of some work but has recently been taken over and was one of their first functions since covid. Function was great and breakfast was lovely. Nothing seemed to much trouble for them.

This was a truly fantastic place. Beautiful inside and out, the rooms were in superb condition with really high standard bathrooms. Clean and comfortable, surpassed our expectations. The building and the sitting room, foyer and so forth were all wonderful. Would recommend, and I would absolutely stay here again.
