1 Loch Ness Hostel

The hot shower felt like a massage.  It was the best part of the stay.  The ease of the key/check-in and -out was also very convenient.

Private rooms were cozy and clean, very lovely accommodation! In a cute but very very very tiny town on lochness. highly recommend!

Great little place to stay. The room was clean and the ensuite bathroom was great - the shower is fantastic! It's in a good location with beautiful views and good places to eat nearby.

The hostel had a nice and clean private room for me and my friend. We used a lockbox system to retrieve the key when the owner sent over the lock code. Great location just down the road from the Loch Ness Centre and over the road from the bus stop

Perfect location. I’m traveling with my 5&3 year old and the bunk bed was perfect. Quiet and the person running it let me do laundry past closing (it’s outside so the sound didn’t bother anyone).

Comfortable cabin .....good shower; bit creaky wooden bed Some hooks would be an improvement

My friend and I had been outside all night and when we talked to reception at 8am they immediately gave us a room. Such lovely people and it warmed our hearts. Great location in Drumnadrochit. Highly recommend.

This was a quaint place to stay that was within walking distance of a cute cafe and shops. The wifi wasn’t very reliable unless you were near the closest outside wall, but worked well there. Overall, it was clean enough, the TV had cable, and the beds weren’t too uncomfortable. I would recommend staying here again!

I stayed for 1 night in room no 2 which is located on the ground floor of the main building. This room is disabled friendly with a large ensuite bathroom. Self checkin process was straight forward. Room itself was spacious and clean. The chairs were a bit worn out but understandable for the price. Some noise transmitted from upstairs as people walked on the floorboards but did not bother me. Handy space at the back of the building to park the car. Overall I felt safe and comfortable. Handy bar/restaurant (Fiddlers) directly opposite the hostel serving great food.

Good friendly accommodation

Using text/email for check-in information was overall interesting and convenient, giving necessary information, but did not allow for customer response. I couldn't access the Wi-Fi and ate through a chunk of data on my phone. Aside from that the facilities were comfortable, clean, and equipped with en-suites. Furnishing is minimal but cozy, no desks but the sofa is comfortable. Good for short stays.

We stayed just the one night on our way home. The cabin was very clean. Arrangements were made so that we had no physical contact with the staff which, as our stay was during the Covid 19 pandemic, was very good.We were able to park right outside the door. There was a picnic table and chairs for our use right out side too.The communal kitchen was clean, the laundry room seemed well supplied though we had no need to use it.Inside the cabin the beds were comfortable, the TV worked well with no interference (in fact I have the very same TV in my own home) WiFi reception was good.The shower worked well though it takes a while for the hot water to come through which is usually par for the course when using this kind of accommodation.Only minor point to improve on was that the towels, though very clean, were also quite well worn.All in all an enjoyable, comfortable stay with a good nights sleep, which is all we were after. Will definitely stay again on our way to and from Orkney.

Good pit stop stay

Due to Covid-19, no staff on site but information all sent via email on how to check in & out. With a contact number on the front door if needed to get hold of anybody. The hostel as a public Laundrette in the car park which was useful. My room had a TV a suprise for a hostel but unfortunately it was not tuned in.

High Standard Hostel

We booked a room for 3 people and were given one of the bunk style cabins in the backyard. This would have been fine for what we needed if there weren't two rather annoying issues - mattresses were uncomfortable on two of the three beds, and the bathroom had a seriously funky smell. Despite leaving windows open and spraying deoderant into the room it was barely usable during our stay (only if you held your breath).Aside from the uncomfortable mattresses and foul bathroom order (which didn't permeate the room if you closed the door) - the site was clean, well proportioned, and easily accessed. It was perfectly serviceable for sleeping only and close to many great sites (Loch Ness, Urqhart Castle, etc.). Very basic but we didn't expect much more (except perhaps a bathroom that didn't smell).Don't pay any attention to the stock photos though - they didn't match the rooms at all. Lovely poster bed in one of the photos and we ended up in bunks. Which that part was clearer on the site, but again we didn't expect much from the location otherwise.

Basic and Serviceable

Everything was awesome. We had a thorough tour of the property upon arrival. Very clean and comfortable.  Only feedback is that the kitchen is a little bit cozy for sharing space with other guests.  Facilities were great even if the kitchen was a little cozy to share with other guests.  A great experience overall; a very nice space in a very nice place!

great home base for exploring Loch Ness!

Overall, ok. Room ok, we booked a double with ensuite. Hostel facilities ok, kitchen ok, sitting room ok.  Though the property is situated on the busy main road, and there was some traffic noise overnight at the room we had in the front of the property.BUT, it would be nice if someone from here answered their phone, very hard to communicate, or to arrange a late check in. Which when FINALLY contacted was not a problem, but it took MANY calls, a call to hotels.com, an email and finally a Facebook post to get an answer form here. I was about to cancel the reservation, due to lack of response.

Very poor communication

The property had the basics for a comfortable stay, however, it could have been a little bit cleaner.
