Excellent stay. Really friendly and helpful owners. Breakfast was great (poached eggs the best I've ever had). Really helpful with ideas of where to visit, what to see and where to eat. Couple of great recommendations for food. Location is right in the heart of this small town and with pubs and restaurants within a short stroll. Electric charging onsite is a bonus!! Highly recommended

We had a warm welcome at Watermead House. Having booked very late, our room was on the top floor. It was extremely comfortable with tea/coffee making facilities, a large screen television and a spacious shower. We found it lovely and quiet. We appreciated the advice on local restaurants which were a short walk away. Breakfast was exceptional, ordered the evening before from a wide selection so no delay and very tasty.

Stunning Building both inside and out.. Certainly a pleasant surprise after a long day travelling.. Gary and Jamie so welcoming and very friendly.  Nothing was too much trouble.  Great location and lovely and quie,t but a short walk and you are on the high street with plenty of restaurants and even a Wetherspoons !!!   Slept well and the breakfast the next morning was excellent with good quality ingredients,  Can see they take such pride in their B&B and have spent lots of money to update where required.

Superb! We were visiting friends nearby but an excellent location for visiting the west country. Room and breakfast excellent, host friendly and helpful. Nespresso machine is a bonus but could do with more than the two pods provided. A bar would be nice.

Very comfortable stay at Watermead House.We found it bright and clean and the owners were very welcoming.Our room had everything that we needed, including a large widescreen TV and good tea and coffee facilities with the additional touch of a bottle of filtered water in the room.We had a good nights sleep in a comfortable bed and breakfast in the morning was excellent.There was a very good selection of continental options and a varied selection of cooked options which made such a nice change from the usual full English ! The smashed avocado was exceptionally tasty and well worth having .We will definitely stay here again.

I’ve submitted a Google review following my stay at this property but this place is so good I felt the need to feedback here too. 
From start to finish our experience of the stay was superb:  The host was so accommodating, the property is just beautiful, inside and out, and there is private parking. 
The interior is very tasteful and well thought out, everything and everywhere is so very clean! 
Beautiful room, spacious, modern, amazing attention to detail putting the room together
The dining room is lovely and again amazing attention to detail. Breakfast did not disappoint and continued the quality theme, we liked the app to think through our breakfast options.
Price is great for such a high quality room and property. 
We hope to arrange a further get together in the area in the coming months and we will, without question, book here again
I didn’t mention the bed - deluxe hotel level of comfortable, the owners have clearly invested so much time and effort into this  business which is reflected in every area of the property

Warm welcoming hosts. Really comfortable bed. Lots of attention to detail and can see they are continuing to invest in the property in the interest of providing a great experience for its guests. Parking is a huge plus as difficult to park in Chard and you can walk right onto the highstreet to pubs and restaurants. Would stay again.

Wonderful Guest House in Chard.

An absolute must if you are staying in the area

We booked late & had a room on the top floor. The room was very clean, great shower & comfy bed. The only downside was  the slanting roof  - not good for tall people like us.
Hosts were charming & helpful, breakfast was delicious.
Home made biscuits were a real treat! 
Lovely lounge & dining room - very tastefully done.

Late booking

My wife and I stayed in room four in this fantastic guest house for four nights whilst visiting our family in Chard. The new owners have added some terrific additions to the room, mainly a brand new central heating system, a Smart TV and a spanking new bathroom with a brand new shower fiitted to a very high standard.
The breakfast was superb and the welcome we recieved was warm & friendly.
This is quite simlply the best guest house in Chard.

SIMPLY THE BEST

Jamie and Gary took over an already excellent guest house, and have made it even better. Tastefully decorated, modern but still in country house style. Coming from Denmark, cleanliness is paramount and here they qualify for six stars.
Their breakfast is legendary.

Clean, tidy and welcoming

We stayed at Watermead House for 2 nights. The host Gary was very welcoming, and was attentive to our needs. Car parking on-site is very convenient. The bed was comfortable and we had fabulous breakfasts! The room was clean with a lovely shower. There is a very nice lounge at Watermead where you can spend time. We didn't use the garden, it being February. We will visit again!
