The Shore House

We spent two amazing nights here. What a lovely location, great rooms and fantastic owners. We were made to feel so welcome. Loved our stay and will happily return.

A gem!  Small inn on the shore of a loch.  The view constantly changes with the tide.  Very walkable area, although there is not a lot to do.  Close to Carrick Castle and Moses Well.  The single track road to get there was a surprise, but by third day we were traveling it almost like the locals.  The best host and hostess ever!

I stayed here recently with my wife . I can’t praise Billy and Liz highly enough for their unbelievable hospitality. The property is spotless throughout and has an amazing view over the lake especially from the dining room . Billy’s fish and chips are to die for as is the freshly cooked breakfast each morning. I can’t wait to stay at The Shore House again.

Lovely boutique hotel on the shore of Loch Goil. Comfortable bed, nice bath and shower and AMAZING views from our room. What really makes this place so special are the owners - Billy and Liz (and their dog Watson). They are amazing hosts and lovely people. They really made our stay special. Thank you!!

We enjoyed our 2 night stay! Beautiful location and the view from the common area and restaurant was incredible. Breakfast was served as requested and was very tasty. Billy and Liz were very helpful and hospitable. Only downside to our stay was that the bed was quite small. Other than that the room had absolutely everything we needed, it was a nice and quiet sleep. Would stay again. We will definitely recommend to friends and family.

An absolutely beautiful property , spotlessly clean, amazing breakfast plus very approachable and down to earth hosts . Great location for fishing and the Goil Inn is a 2 min walk , Billy is an amazing  cook , my husband doesn’t like fish so Billy went out of his way to make him a curry instead , not many hosts would do that , plus Watson the dog …just so well behaved   We will definitely be back .

It is located right on the banks of the lake. It has the best view of the Loch. It is managed by friendly couple who make the stay amazing. It is a must stay place. Lochgoilhead  is less touristy place, it is therapeutic and relaxing. Our Room was large enough and lake facing. They had provided basic toiletry , selection of coffee, tea and biscuits and shortbreads. They have their own bar too at ground level . Breakfast was freshly made to each person. it was tasty and filling.
   Loved our long walks along the lake. It can be reached by public transport from Glasgow or Edinburgh via Helensburgh. Journey is scenic too.

A wonderful couple of days at the Shore House. Liz and Billy were fabulous hosts, a wonderful place to stay. Our room was  extremely clean, comfortable and spacious with a beautiful view of the loch. Can highly recommend this lovely guesthouse for a peaceful break, it's quite special.

Our stay at The Shore House was very relaxing and comfortable.  The weather was atrocious but this did not detract from the beautiful surroundings and as we were there for a complete chill out it didn’t matter at all. Our hosts, Liz and Billy were very welcoming and made sure we were well looked after. Will definitely return.

We recently stayed here as we were going to a family wedding, as I am in the hospitality industry and know it can be hard to please everyone this was breath taking the room was spotless and everything was spot on. But the thing that sold it for me above the stunning room and amazing views. This would be the 5* rating that this accommodation deserves the hosts Billy and Liz were second to none and nothing was to much. Even down to assisting me with a wee bit of dress altering for the big day. They are friendly and so welcoming and even their little pup Watson was a little diamond.  Truly thank you for an amazing stay, it’s one I will treasure it reminds me why I fell in love with Argyll all those years ago.  I wish you many years of wonderful guests x

Stunning accommodation with a 5* rating, spectacular hosts !

Truly amazing!! Even before we had arrived, the owner Billy had made contact with me to arrange dinner for both nights. The freshly prepared fish and chips was exceptional! The welcome was warm and friendly! Our room was beautiful, clean, comfortable and fully equipped! The view has to be seen to be believed and when accompanied with some locally brewed ales, it’s as close to perfection as you can get! Fantastic walks up through the Glens, where the scenery gets even better! Live music in the garden, fantastic beers and cocktails and a sighting of a huge whale within feet of the jetty! What more could you ask for!! Needless to say, we’ll be going back!! Huge thanks to Billy and Sam for all your hard work!

Truly exceptional!!

I’ve traveled a fair bit and stayed at all types of hotels; the Shore House is one of those gems which makes you want to go back again. Fabulous location right on the shore of Lochgoilhead which itself is great because it is far from the crowds of Loch Lomond. Billy & Liz, the hosts are just marvelous people; welcoming, warm and great to have a chat with. The house has all kinds of fun stuff like a ping pong table, a darts board, kayaks, a gin garden on the front lawn. We were just so happy during our short stay. Our rooms were well appointed with views of the lake. So much attention to detail. We are already planning our next visit
