Beautiful cottage in a lovely area. It was clean and spacious. Nice and quiet. The kids loved the pony in the field next to the cottage.

Lovely cottage in beautiful surroundings. We were met by the host who was nice and welcoming.

Lovely cottage with fields, birds and a donkey. The location is far enough out of town to give you country experience but close enough for convenience to shopping and major routes. The cottage was clean with all the amenities.

Lovely warm and cosy cottage. Felt very at home there. Pauline was a wonderful host. Thank you.

The property was so lovely! And the grounds were beautiful, all the staff are really friendly and there is a lovely dog called Tilly and a very friendly donkey

We stayed in the pretty little Pear Tree cottage. So cute and everything you need for a self catering stay for two.  We loved the whole setting easy parking and tranquil country walks. Pauline is a gem and takes such pride in her beautiful home. She made sure we had everything we needed. The price is very reasonable and we found booking direct very straightforward. Agencies can make the experience more complicated these days! We hope to be back soon. 

we became husband and wife July 2022. 
we viewed Brookhall a year previously to our wedding and it was the first and only venue we looked at as we both fell in love. Nothing was a problem to Rosemary and Pauline they definitely go the extra mile for there guests. 8 months on a our family and friends still talk about our wedding and the venue  The Barn The Chapel Cottages and  the area around is just amazing and what we wanted for our wedding. Stress free relaxed from booking right the we checked out. Totally amazing wish we could do it all over again 

I used Brookhall as a business venue, the facilities were very good and support from the staff was excellent.  The parking onsite was very useful for all attending and location very easily accessed for delegates.

Cottage was very comfortable, charming and spotless. We had a fabulous stay and will defo be back.

What a find! Pear tree heaven! 

our wedding

We stayed here whilst awaiting a house build , so here a while, and it's just fabulous. Pauline ( owner ) couldn't have been kinder , and our cottage was Lodge View. It was spacious , very clean and kitted out as a home from home . The grounds are just fantastic , dogs welcomed , animals in the fields , and  truly peace and tranquility . 

Our son and wife were also married here years ago , and we stayed in this exact cottage. So I am also qualified to talk of the wonderful small chapel here , and the barn and  hall  for receptions is amazing . Again , Pauline was very helpful in helping them create their perfect day 

To see sunrises out the back , and the light filter through trees is just a joy. You can awake to birdsong, it's lovely .   You can also get Tesco delivery here too, a bonus if you are staying a bit .

There's excellent free parking , and quick access to Lisburn , with all it offers , and we went away for day trips all over. 

 All in all , we could not recommend these cottages highly  enough.  Thank you Pauline , for giving us such a beautiful start to our new life in Northern Ireland .

A little bit of heaven ....just beautiful

My daughter and her fiancé fell in love with this venue when they were home at Christmas and looking for a wedding venue. 
It is a blank canvas for you to put your own stamp on and definitely for those wanting a quirky wedding. There is a beautiful little church for the ceremony and a barn for the reception and also an indoor room which can be used for a small reception or for serving drinks and nibbles between ceremony and reception. The whole farm was beautifully decorated with flowers and hanging baskets and there were plenty of picnic tables for the guests to sit around while waiting for the meal. There are some interesting animals around for photo opportunities. It was a very relaxed venue with everything contained on the same sight. Also an added benefit is that there are 4 cottages on sight which we rented which meant that the whole family were able to stay over the night before and night of the wedding. The cottages are beautifully decorated in period style and with very well equipped kitchens and bathrooms. Pauline who runs the venue is always on site and available for any queries.

Wedding at Brookhall Historical Farm

Brookhall Cottages in a word are unique - and we consider ourselves a fairly well travelled family when saying that. The owners were outstanding both in regards to making sure we had settled in, and local knowledge for places to visit in Northern Ireland. Our cottage was a gem, very well equipped and appointed with tasteful quality furnishings and well laid out. Returning to the unique theme, our cottage was at the end of a drive which lead to the main house where you will see a chapel with an ancient history. For those looking for a wedding venue I think you would be hard pushed to find such a quaint setting. Our children loved the animals at the location which kept them amused while my wife and I could enjoy a walk around the well stocked gardens. We found Brookhall cottages a haven of rest from our busy schedules, are so grateful to the owners for their kind, generous and humorous welcome - they couldn't do enough for us. What we liked least was having to say goodbye - our children didn't want to leave which speaks volumes!

Wonderful stay with wonderful hosts

Very kind owners by phone and in person.  Very easy to deal with.  We were met on arriving and showed cottage.  We were a party of four, one couple and two singles so the Honeysuckle cottage suited our needs lovely.  Estate has been owned by Pauline and Sam for over 30 years and a lot of pride has gone in to it.  Although near a busy road we were not kept awake and had lovely night's sleeps for our stay and enjoyed the property as we sipped tea etc. from our self catering cottage.  We were doing day trips into Belfast and surround areas so this suited our needs well.  We did have some difficulty with no internet for myself and spotty for another in our party and for one it worked fine. So thinking it was our devices but frustrating, but again, owner tried to help all she could.  Pauling and Sam take a lot of pride in their place and it shows.  Loved the restored 12th century church on the grounds.  Pauline gave us a tour.  We would stay again and will do if the need arises.  Distance to Belfast is about half an hour but we did have a couple of times with traffic it took a lot longer.  So for those wanting to do day trips just plan accordingly traffic can be bad at certain times of day getting in and out of city.  We overall enjoyed the owners and our stay.  


HELPFUL OWNERS AND A GREAT NIGHT'S SLEEP

We recently recently got married at Brookhall and had an incredible time at this breathtaking venue. Due to the wedding we hired all the cottages for our family to stay for a few days.
The cottages are deceptively spacious with the two gate lodge cottages having more than ample space for larger families. The smallest cottage was pear tree, but despite being slightly smaller had plenty of room!
The grounds and facilities are second to none. Having the gardens and animals meant the kids were easily entertained and in addition to this the location is very close to Lisburn.
From start to finish Pauline was an incredible host. I would recommend staying at the cottages simply for the service and welcome she will provide. From the second you arrive Pauline will bend over backwards to make sure every part of your stay is perfect. 
Contrary to previous reviews, Pauline is far from invasive. Pauline and Sam leave guests well alone to their own devises, However are always on hand if you need anything at all. Their passion and knowledge for the venue is outstanding.
If you want a simple and relaxing stay in the heart of the countyside, Brookhall is the perfect place.
