SIMPLY PERFECT!

We stayed for 2 nights (6th & 7th August 2025). 

We booked an accessible room and it was fabulous.

A queen sized bed and 2 single beds. Drink making facilities, TV and veranda.

The accessible bathroom was excellent. Details included sensory lights on mirrors and door entry where the door was hinged for easy access (swung either into the room or out the room). Obviously meaning easy access for a wheelchair.

Breakfast was ordered via an app on the previous night and freshly prepared once seated in the breakfast room.

Wow! What an amazing place to stay. Travelling with elderly relatives, the facilities for disabled are incredible. The rooms are super clean and the attention to every little detail is unbelievable. 
The breakfast - well, the range of choice could not be faulted and the quality of the food to rival any restaurant. The omelette is the best I’ve ever tasted. Can’t wait to try the pancakes tomorrow. Thank you to Debbie for her attention to our every need.

We could not have had a nicer stay. Debbie & Steve have been outstanding. We will 100% return. The room was spotlessly clean & so well equipped. Even down to toiletries and an Easter egg each. We were made to feel so welcome. Their breakfasts and homemade cakes are out of this world. There is not, in our opinion, anything that could be improved upon. Absolute perfection. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A lovely afternoon tea with a great choice of cakes, so many that we had to take some home! All fresh and well presented. Staff were friendly and attentive even though every table was taken. We will definitely be back to try the main menu and more delicious treats.

Double Gate Farm is ... A Find. Quiet, relaxed and comfortable with excellent attention to detail. In the room we found REAL COFFEE with a Cafetiere, a fridge for our own items should we need it (even some so-called major hotel groups don't provide one). The room was super-clean, airy with huge sliding doors giving onto a terrace and river, field and sky view. With good outdoor furniture to relax in. If privacy from the next-door neighbour is needed, then a screen can be pulled across giving you total solitude. Bliss.The Team here goes the extra mile to make your stay exactlly as you want it to be; breakfast is sensational too with excellent quality eggs, bacon, granola and so on. Super-organised, super-friendly, super-discreet, we loved our long weekend here.

On arrival at our accommodation we were welcomed by Debbie, who straight away made us feel at home. Our room was one of a few tastefully converted in an old farm house, so had character as well as being in a peaceful setting. The room was well appointed with everything we required, tea/coffee, biscuits, cakes & not only the usual TV but a radio as well. The  room was spacious with a very comfortable bed. A lovely big shower with ample hot water in the ensuite. The breakfast was superb, giving us a great start to the day. There was lots of space outside to sit & relax. Debbie & her husband couldn't do enough, giving info of the surrounding area.

Really quiet and relaxing location. Debbie the host could not have been more helpful and accommodating. The tea room was cosy and breakfast was delicious!

We had a lovely stay at double gate , our rooms were spacious with everything you would need, very clean, with lovely decor. The surroundings very nice with views across the open countryside, a river running alongside.  Breakfast was scrumptious, very good selection, good quality food . Nothing was too much trouble! Debbie made us feel very welcome.
Would definitely recommend and will stay again.

Excellent value for money. We loved our Riverside room which was very clean and spacious with patio doors onto a small patio area which overlooked the River. The bathroom/wet room was very large and suitable for able bodied as well as people with disabilities. The room itself had a very efficient ceiling fan which had only a slight hum. It also had a fridge as well as device charging points. Breakfasts, which were pre ordered the night before, were sizeable and freshly cooked offering a range of options including a healthy bowl of fresh fruit. Nothing was too much trouble for Debbie and her father who was keen to know that the eggs were cooked to our liking. The garden was very well manicured with additional outbuildings including a guest laundry. The location was excellent for getting to Wells and the surrounding areas in the Mendips and beyond.

A wonderful place to stay especially if you need accessible rooms

A great stay in a great location

Fabulous,, relaxing few day away !

An enjoyable and comfortable stay.

We stayed in SWALLOW BARN for 3 nights. There were 5 of us - two couples and a single. The accommodation was excellent: beautifully clean and comfortable. We all had our own en-suite bedrooms with very good showers. The dining area was large and the kitchen well equipped. Plenty of plates and crockery along with oven, dishwasher etc... The lounge was spacious too. So there was plenty of room, all nicely decorated.

Debbie was very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble and there was a very nice welcome pack which included scrumptious cakes.

Location is good - nice and quiet but only a 10-minute drive to Wells. Nice pub next door which does a great Sunday lunch.

We had a very enjoyable and relaxing stay and woudln't hesitate to book again.

Fabulous Stay

My sister and I recently spent a week at Double-Gate Farm b&b, which is ideally situated for visiting Glastonbury, Wells, Cheddar Gorge and numerous wildlife reserves. We found it to be welcoming and efficiently run. Our twin room was clean and spacious with large patio doors opening onto a terrace bounded by an attractive dyke beyond which was a field and open countryside. The beds were comfortable and Debbie had thoughtfully provided everything you might possibly need, from spare blankets to a large umbrella. Being all on one level and equipped with an excellent wet room it would make a perfect stay for a disabled person. A hearty breakfast with plenty of choice was served by Debbie and her dad in the tea room. An excellent evening meal can be had in the pub next door. We would thoroughly recommend Double-Gate Farm to anyone looking for a peaceful holiday in the heart of the English countryside.

An excellent week’s holiday

Great rooms, shared amenities and breakfast. Debbie and her family team couldn’t be more friendly and helpful. Our second stay at this farm B&B, this time as a base to see the starling murmurations on the Avalon Marshes. Cracking pub next door too with good food and cider. If you want to visit the Somerset Levels, the DoubleGate comes highly recommended.
