Bodhi House

I went to Bath this weekend with my partner and before we went we did that classic thing of looking for cheap air bnb’s for our last minute stay in Bath to prevent very expensive hotel stays (as is the norm now) but then came across this gem of a place. It actually ended up cheaper than the air bnb’s we were looking at even though it is closer to town and you have room cleaned, free breakfasts made for you and loads of extra treats in your stay! I’ll never go for an air bnb in Bath again!! (Unless it’s to book this whole house out for a special weekend, which they sometimes do) I am generally quite fussy and high maintenance - I’m not going to pretend I’m not! I have high standards! And this place was just ideal. Proper bed and proper breakfast with a fantastic host. Myself and partner stayed in the top floor room of this gorgeously homely yet modern house for 2 nights in the incredibly comfortable Super King (6ft) bed (!) where there was a TV (with freeview, netflix, bbc iplayer, 4od etc) and a beautiful walk-in shower in the en-suite. Stunning view out the windows over the entire city and totally silent and dark at night. Black out blinds mean you’re not woken by sunlight in the morning either. Exactly what we wanted and couldn’t have asked for more. The place is spotlessly clean, gorgeous little touches that made you feel really well looked after. The breakfasts were delicious and better than any hotel you could stay in (with lots of options to choose from!), the food is locally sourced and vegan/veggie options available on request. Catherine & Jamie really are superb hosts and look after you brilliantly, they’ve truly thought of everything to make your stay special and comfortable. They suggested great things for us to do and pubs to go to, they are very knowledgable about the area & there is a great family vibe in the house whilst feeling professional and having very high standards. They kindly offered us lifts into town (only a 6 minute drive) but we had our own car, and there was lots of free parking right outside the house during our stay. They also have deals with local businesses if you stay with them you get discounts at the Roman Baths/ Thermae Spa / other local businesses which also make it very worth while. Will absolutely be recommending this place to friends and would love to stay again. Best B&B I’ve stayed in.
