Boreland Bunkhouse - Hostel

Stayed here for 2nights with family and we were booked into schiehallion lodge, it was superb.Spotless and fully equipped. Sleeps 10 easily.fabulous hot tub with loch and hills views. All you need is your food and drink,absolute quality.perfect place to recharge the batteries and lots of places for dog walking.A couple of miles into kenmore village if you fancy a visit to a good pub/restaurant. Fire pit,barbecue and lots of outdoor space on the decking. We are already looking at dates for a return visit.

We stayed in the Schiehallion chalet for a few nights. The chalet was very clean, homely and well kitted out. It is a lovely setting, remote but only a few miles from Kenmore where there are plenty of amenities. Plenty of nice walks around Boreland and close to the loch. Easy key box check in, a lazyspa, wood burner, wifi and big tv. It is also dog friendly. 

The only things that would have made the stay better is having somewhere to put clothes in the bedrooms, there are no drawers/wardrobes which is annoying. The benches in the dining area are really uncomfortable, it would be a better experience with chairs. 

Those are very minor things though, on the whole we all absolutely loved our stay here and plan to come back next year.

There is a very big living room and lots of space to move around for families or adults looking to developing business teamwork or anything you can come up with. Also good for mini weddings 

Lovely lodges, nice and warm, stunning scenery and great Wi-Fi. All the essentials were provided. The en-suite was an unexpected bonus. Nicely laid out deck with hot tub, fire pit and barbecue. This was all we needed for a lovely family get together.

Stayed in Schiehallon Lodge and what a lodge!!  absolutely spotless,  decor totally suits the lodge and the area.  Loved the fresh white bed linen and white fluffy towels supplied.  The kitchen has absolutely everything you need for a self catering holiday.  The TV is massive and has the added bonus of Sky Sports.  Outside decking area is lovely and is equipped with a hot tub, seating area, bbq and fire pit that’s round the side of the lodge.  The views are gorgeous!! I loved the lodge when the sun went down as they have the lodges all lit up see attached photo.  
Boreland is a very laid back place with very courteous and helpful staff, we had the pleasure of dealing with the General Manager Dirk who was absolutely fantastic with us and gave us great advice on what to do and where to go on our family break.  Boreland is dog friendly and our little girl had a great time and I must state the lodge has absolutely no smells etc of dogs.  
We can not wait to return to Boreland.  Hope this review helps you to decide to book it you won’t regret it!!!!

I booked the Cottage for my boyfriends 30th birthday with friends then the Farmhouse and Cabin with his family a month later to celebrate and could not recommend more! We had a fantastic time both stays. Teri was brilliant (and patient) with me and was happy to answer all of the questions I had before we stayed. You are pretty much left to do your own thing and party away with no hassle or complaints from staff - just a check in to make sure everything is ok around 10-11pm. Thank you Boreland & team for helping me make my boyfriends 30th birthday celebrations so special! Would 100% recommend to anyone who is thinking to book and will most definitely be booking again in the future!

After two weeks of cycling this was the best place to unwind and relax for an evening. We stayed in the Bunkhouse which had everything we needed and more. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen was large and spacious with everything you needed to make whatever you fancied and the living room/gaming area was great too. However our favourite part was the secret garden....having access to the hot tub, fire pit and BBQ really made our stay extra special! Our only complaint was that we didn't have time to explore more of the local area. The accommodation is situated right next to a stunning loch and the views are amazing. We will definitely be back!

We had the pleasure of staying here for 5 nights/6 days courtesy of both our sons as a late (pre-booked) Christmas present. WOW, it was amazing!! There was 5 of us in our party, and we stayed in the farmhouse, it had everything you needed, we had the hot tub and barbecue package included in our stay, unfortunately we couldn't make use of them both as much as we wanted due to some rain most evenings and mornings (I think a pop up gazebo would be ideal, especially on rainy days, so you can still make use of using the hot tub, regardless of weather) but this is just personal preference!! However, this said it certainly didn't hamper our time spent here, the villages located either end and in between Loch Tay are beautiful, great photo opportunities. All in all an amazing stay with our 2 sons and daughter in law. 
I think the farmhouse would benefit a gazebo of sort in the back area to make full use of the hot tub. And barbecue utensils (website says these are provided, but we couldn't find any) But other than that, a wonderful superb break away. We will definitely be back again.

We stayed as a large group of 18 for a school sporting event nearby. The accommodation was lovely and clean with plenty of space to relax in the living room/dining are/decking. Would definitely return.

Group of a dozen guys on a stag do, during one of the wettest periods in British history and it was still a great weekend. Gregg and Aaron looked after us brilliantly and it was a really well kitted out accommodation. The location is jaw droppingly beautiful and the activities were great (even in weather that was freezing snow and sleet!). There was a slight issue but the guys sorted it in really quickly and were able to make sure it didn’t really affect us. I’ve been a lot of lads weekends away and this has to be one of the most straightforward I’ve ever organised. Highly recommended.

Top class accommodation.

Lovely lodges at Boreland Loch Tay. Cozy lodge with hot tub, fire pit, gorgeous views and indoor woodburning fire. Great relaxing weekend for a group of adult friends. Towels and bedding provided and large flat screen TV in the lodge. Large fridge freezer, bathroom and an en-suite. Lovely walks around and the views are just breathtaking of the hills. Dog friendly too! Wood fire indoor fire provided, extra cost for outdoor logs. Curfew at 11 to be in lodges. 

Only let down for us was the staff. Upon booking, the staff were friendly and very helpful. However, unfortunately when arriving at the property our opinion was changed. I understand for noise and neighbours the curfew is 11pm however the way this was told to us was unpleasant, as If we were a group of teenagers being told no one is allowed outdoors unless they smoke after 11pm. We were told if we had an issue, no one would be there overnight to help us so we had an hour to phone if we needed anything. 
 There is a sign up in the lodge with a number to call if you “need anything at all.” The lodge slept 8 and the hot tub fits 5 at at most, so naturally we took turns of getting in and out over 3 days. On day 2, the water was looking pretty shallow so we phoned and asked if it would be possible to fill up. The guy came up and filled up, not a problem. One evening we wished to use the hottub again before we left, but again, it was lacking water. As there was someone on the reception , we asked if it would be possible to top up again (simple as putting some water from the hose in and letting it heat up.) It didn’t seem an issue as reception told us they would send someone up. Someone did come up but made it very clear they “aren’t accountable for constantly refilling hot tubs” quite rudely, making us feel very uncomfortable. We wished to make the most out of our stay by using the blow up hot tub and enjoying the views. We felt as if we were bother and were disrupting the staff. 

All in all, we wouldn’t let this stop us from returning however the staff did make us feel uncomfortable and honestly, quite  awkward.

AMAZING PLACE

We 15 ladies gathered for a wonderful weekend in The Bunkhouse. It’s advertised as sleeping 20, but we felt 15 was just right for our purpose, so we weren’t too cramped. 

On arrival we were assisted by very helpful staff, who provided us with extra seating so that we could all eat at the same time in the kitchen.  Luckily we were also allocated an extra fridge in the barn opposite, as the small fridge in the Bunkhouse was not really adequate for a weekend’s worth of food for 15 (let alone our ‘beverages’!).   The accommodation was clean and tidy, and the bedding and towels spotless.  The hot tub was already set up, hot and ready to go. 

The surrounding countryside is stunning, and we hiked down to the private beachfront at Loch Tay to swim.  Be warned though - it’s only 1.5 miles, but downhill across fields, over a stream and through woodland - but wonderful nonetheless, as long as you have the right footwear!  The water is certainly refreshing.  

We took our own entertainment, so didn’t take advantage of any of the activities that Boreland offer, but the zorbing football we watched certainly looked fun.  In all, a great venue - nothing fancy (they have fancier places on offer), but perfect for our weekend.
