This place is absolutely beautiful and amazing value for money! The Staff  were really helpful and kind,Emily went above and beyond to help make sure my family would have the best holiday possible! We have already booked the 2nd holiday here.
The kids loved that there was so much space, the field with a goal on was definitely a bonus surprise for the kids! ❤️ Thank you to everyone at Loch Tay Boreland team for such a memorable and peaceful holiday

Six of us went to  Boreland Loch Tay for 2 nights and we stayed in Ben Cruachan. The lodge was spotless and well maintained.  The hot tub was on when we arrived and we used it a couple of times.  I  have no negatives about the place, the views are amazing and the staff we met were all friendly. I would recommend a visit and we are already planning a return visit.  We also took 2 dogs with us and there are plenty of walks for them. We visited a local restaurant and the dogs were allowed into the bar area, the food here was lovely.

Spent 2 days and wish we were there for longer. Stayed in the farmhouse and it was amazing. Beds so comfortable didn't want to get up. Staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Catering was brilliant as well. Definitely going back.

Me and my family visited here for the first time last month and we're already looking to book again. The stunning scenery and remote setting was perfect for us to have some chilled time together as a family. The lodge was fully equipped, clean and had plenty of space. The fire and hot tub were perfect for relaxing in on the deck. We had a great time exploring on long walks with my daughter, taking in the stunning views which were truly a little slice of heaven. Although we loved how serene and quiet it was because of its' location, we were only a few miles from the village when we did want to go out for dinner/drinks. We had everything we needed with an en-suite, good Wi-Fi and staff who were more than happy to help us with additional fire wood or other queries. We couldn't recommend staying here enough and we can't wait to go back!

I was there for a wedding celebration.  It is a beautiful setting and the main area is lovely.  Accomodation is fairly comfortable but basic.  This is advertised as a wedding venue but not one of the chalets has a mirror apart from what is in the bathroom.  Seems very odd and both the hairdresser and makeup artist stated that they had made comment regarding this.  What would it take to buy mirrors.   Main area was very cold in the evening
Overall we had a great two days with friends.

Excellent experience 

Not quite what I expected. We stayed in the long house and it was that - long. Big long corridor with bedrooms, bathroom and kitchen coming off it and outdoor area. Strange lay out, didn’t feel homely and welcoming. It felt quite disjointed and very much like a hostel. Even had two separate bathrooms for male and female. It was clean however and kitchen has lots of cooking utensils. When we arrived there was no fridge! We had to phone reception and they ended up delivering one quite promptly. Bizarre. The smoke alarm also went off while we were cooking breakfast, we phoned reception and they took 30minutes to come to switch it off. Meanwhile we had to sit eating our breakfast listening to the piercing sound of the alarm. Not enjoyable, The location is nice, however we couldn’t enjoy any of the views from our accommodation as the windows that we had mainly  looked onto another building. Some of the other accommodation looked better than ours. I would recommend if you are staying at Boreland consider the other properties before this one.

The long house is long

Terrible is an understatement for the service and accommodation here.
We arrived and was shown sub standard accommodation without the hot tub we had booked. We expressed our concerns and a member of staff left us to try to find us an alternative lodge. He didn’t come back and when we went to look for staff to help us there was no one there. Repeated phone calls went unanswered and we packed up and left. We have been unable to contact anyone from Boreland to get our money back.

Avoid this place at all costs!!

As a travel writer, I experience the best and the worst and this unfortunately, falls into the latter category.
In theory and as a concept, this place could be exceptional, however, lack of care, management and attention to guests' basic needs, leaves Boreland sadly lacking in customer experience.
On arrival in forecast -3 temperatures, we had no heating and no hot water. We tried to call numerous times, the number left for guests' attention but were met with no answer, calls cancelled and basically ignored and left to fend for ourselves. We tried to light the log burner meantime with the two logs we were supplied with (extra cost £10 although no way of getting these as no staff on site) which soon burned out. The thermostat was broken, the boiler had no water and had obviously not been checked for a long time and required servicing. We attempted to rectify all of these issues whilst we waited for a call back or someone to arrive on site, which never happened. The toilet flush was broken, there were missing mirrors with nails still sticking out of the wall and the hottub, which we had paid extra to have available, was full of dead leaves, an inch of stank water and was not even connected. 
We had to leave and seek alternative accommodation at 9pm at night and are still waiting for the Boreland management team to come back to us. Incidentally we also met a group of girls next door who were also trying to track down owners/management and were experiencing the exact same issues as us - so not a one-off. Unsafe, unsanitary, uncomfortable and unworthy of any positive mention, this is a classic example of a great concept, very, very poorly exectued.

No heating or hot water in minus 3 temperatures with no access to staff or management

We were unfortunate enough to have booked two nights in one of the lodges on the Boreland Farm complex, and whilst the place generally could be lovely, the abysmal customer service and lack of respect for the guests staying pushes this location firmly into the worst of "Scottish tourism cash grab" category.

When we arrived, our heating wasn't on or working, it was impossible to set the thermostat as there was an error message showing, and because the temperature adjuster wheel on the thermostat had been broken off. We had our elderly mother with us and a warning for ice in the area that evening, so I looked at the boiler which had no water pressure and was showing a "flame loss" warning - which I would imagine is plumber territory.

The chalet generally was tatty, the flush button on the toilet didn't exist, there was a lot of bashes and chips, but the heating was the primary concern. We did order logs, but the supplied bags don’t include kindling to get a fire going, so that is also well thought out.

One of the major selling points on all the Boreland marketing is the hot tubs... which we asked for and we were assured, would be on and ready to use. Our hot tub had two inches of stinking water in it with all the pipes being disconnected.

All these things would probably be sortable we felt, so we called the contact number supplied and nothing, it didn't get answered, we tried repeatedly... no one answered. We spoke to some people staying in an adjacent lodge, who too had been promised a working hot tub, and they showed us a call log of over twenty calls made to the number, with no one answering.

We continued to try calling, and eventually gave up when the person with the phone started cancelling the calls... customer care at its absolute best.

I live in Scotland, and have stayed extensively in Scotland, and I can safely say that this is BY FAR the worst experience I have had at any accommodation I have stayed in in the Country. The customer service is an embarrassment to Scottish tourism and frankly, if the owners don't want to run the accommodation properly, providing the facilities and service detailed on their marketing then they should just close or sell it to someone who IS interested.

But I am sure misrepresenting what they offer earns them far too much money, money that is patently not invested in maintenance and staff, to let them walk away. One thing is for certain, I am sure they slept far better than we did in their excuse of tourism accommodation.

Lovely location, great views, but not recommended.


Probably the worst accommodation experience I have had in Scotland

For accommodation for two people costing over £1,000 for three nights I'd expect at least a response to a query on my booking - nothing heard close to planned arrival despite phone messages left and emails.

Then looked further and found broken links on its website and urine and vomit mentioned several times on its booking conditions (see attached screen grabs)

Seems like this stag party venue is maybe not under active management and / or gone bust?

Changed plans and went elsewhere nearby - so glad I did.

Suggest you speak to someone and get responses in writing don't go. Also seems not like a venue for a quiet short break given the focus on stag parties.
