We stayed in this hotel for a couple of days in the last week of June. It is a hotel showing the grandeur of its age having being built in 1875. It has a large reception, lobby, staircase and even an auditorium. We stayed in a spacious, refurbished room which was clean with a well equipped bathroom. Breakfast had a good layout and there was no shortage of vegetarian food. For dinner we had to go to the Laudinella hotel, which is part of the same group, and is only a 5 minute walk. This hotel has several restaurants including a Pizzeria which serves delicious meals. Reception staff in Hotel Reine Victoria are friendly. On ringing a few days prior to checking in, I spoke with Mithra who informed me of a free shuttle service between the hotel and the train station which was convenient. I would specially like to name Jaya & Laudinella who were polite & very helpful. Jaya kindly advised me of places to see nearby and also made shuttle and restaurant reservations for which we are thankful. The negative point about this hotel is that the reception is not manually staffed after 11 PM.
