Nice Hotel.
Friendly Staff.
Very nice view of the Mountains from the Room.
Located in the Town-Center. 
Very quiet, small and beautiful Town.
A very good place to going to relax or making adventure sports.

Reception and layout easily accessible. There is a lift for luggage.  Outdoor seating with a sweeping view.  Plenty if inside Swiss decorated and sunny dining area. Rooms are extremely clean with hardwood floors and slate in bathrooms.  Room has an excellent mountain view.

Took a trip to Canton Glarus because my grandmother came from Linthal but no hotels answered our inquiries so we settled on Elm and Hotel Elmer.  The hotel was wonderful and the staff was great. Anna Marie was so nice and René the owner also nice and helpful.  The hotel provided us with some free passes to use the gondolas and tram in Elm and Matt.  The hiking was spectacular.  Food at Hotel Elmer was excellent.  Great undiscovered place to visit in Switzerland.

Hotel Elmer is a gem. Herr Bassler is a wonderful host and the restaurant is first class. I highly recommend Hotel Elmer if you are traveling to Elm. 

The rooms facing the mountains have a view of Martins Loch and pastoral cow grazing out the window, worth the somewhat high rate.

The restaurant is very good and serves typical Swiss food.

We visited Canton Glarus because our family had emigrated from there to the USA.  The hotel is located in the small town of Elm about as far from the usual Swiss tourist routes as one can get.  For us, that was exactly what we were looking for.  Our rooms had a million dollar view out the backside of the hotel on a pastoral scene with high Alps in the background.  The owner, René, is very friendly and speaks very good English.  He was ready with advice about hikes, other nearby towns, the weather, etc.  Our room was fine and about the size of an average European hotel room.  Breakfast (included) was ample with fresh breads and rolls, yogurts, meats, cheeses, eggs, juices, coffee, etc.  The hotel also serves dinner on some evenings.  (Note- If you want to eat there make sure to confirm with them in the morning that they will be open that evening.)  If you have a car there is free parking across the street.  The hotel does have WiFi but it was not working up on the floor we were on at the time of our stay.  The hotel does have an elevator.

Having crossed the Foopass on our Via Alpina trek, we stayed here overnight.  We enjoyed a very pleasant stay in a four-bed room with our own bathroom.  The very cordial desk staff spoke English and was very attentive.

Our room had pleasant views and was very quiet.  

The breakfast buffet was good and generous.  

The hotel is located in the middle of town very close to the trail.  They gave us a tourist card that entitled us to (among other things) free local bus rides.

the owner is very friendly and helpful, gives good advice for the next day's hike.
the quality of the rooms seem to vary a lot.
mine was a ex-massage room and it was extremely small.   although it was newly renovated  the room was dirty, especially the bath room was very dirty, with hairs in the shower.
otherwise, the hotel was fine, breakfast nice,
