What a wonderful place, nice clean one bedroom apt. that the owners take great pride in! The local people all speak english, and are very friendly. The area is loaded with native Deer and Moose! Handi crafts and scenery to die for! Fresh fish at every eatery! The USD goes a long way here so enjoy!!

Lovely apartment style accommodation, very well equipped. Nice and clean and spacious.

Stayed at a panoramic view appartement. The appartments are privatly owned (we stayed in nr 7) and all different. Ours had a view at the ocean and a balcony on the side with ocean view. Beautiful sunsets. The appartment had a bathroom, a living room, a small kitchen with even a dishwasher. A bedroom and a very good bed. We sleep very good, but you can hear the the people next door. Not anything loud. The area was very quiet, in October, mayby not in the summertime. Free parking infront of the building.
A small ICA nearby, but the town is a typical summertown, and a bit empty in the autum/vinter. No restaurant were open outside summertimes.

The hotel/apartments is beautifully located right on the beach and offers stunning views of the sea and small harbour close by. The room itself had a large living space and a really well-equipped kitchen with every appliance you might possibly need for a short stay. The apartment was clean and ready for our stay.

We had a one bedroomed apartment that was a "panorama" room that cost a little more than the standard rooms. This was for the view and I have to say it was worth it. There was a good-sized double bed in the bedroom and a pull out sofa bed. 

Overall, we were pretty happy with the apartment although there were a couple of slight, minor niggles - the television was pretty old and the picture was hit and miss. The Wi-Fi didn't always work and dropped out a fair bit. The sofa bed was really uncomfortable and it was a pain to have to put it up and down every day. There were only one or two plug sockets in the kitchen meaning that we had to plug the kettle in on the floor. So, nothing major and nothing that we felt needed the attention of the hotel staff, and most certainly nothing that affected our holiday in any great way.

The resort itself is very small and we travelled out of season (at Easter). We loved the quietness of the area and appreciated it being quiet. However, be prepared because out of season (even Easter) everything is closed - there was only one small shop open for several hours every day and a kiosk that sold crisps and drinks along with a "restaurant" serving rubbish take away food! We knew this and so therefore took loads of food with us!

Overall, we were very pleased with the hotel - the price was reasonable for Sweden and it was most certainly as advertised. We recommend it!

Swedens Best Kept Secret

Great value

We spent two nights at northern Öland in early September. There were not too many choices available as season is truly over at that time of year - and that was what we were looking for. Based on the reviews and pics Byxelkroks Marina looked good enough. 

Pros
+ good location if you want to visit northern Öland - we cycled to Långe Erik & Trollsskogen and spend a day at Böda Sand, both only few kilometers from Byxelkrok
+ great view to Baltic Sea and Kalmarsund from panorama rooms
+ silence & not too many people during off-season
+ good service - except not having our reservation ready in the first place...

Cons
- Off-season really means off-season - be prepared to cook your own meal if you want decent food on the area. Borgholm was our choice on the second night.
- Off-season also means your reservation has not arrived to the hotel in 2 days as they do not check reservations from Hotels.com regularly -> however we got very good service and a room was available for us in few minutes.
- Rooms have been renovated few years back but the rest of the building (doors, corridors) are few decades old. The rule goes: if there are no pics from public spaces there is something wrong with them. Room was pretty much okay although in pics it looked like they are brand new which they are not anymore, and some of the kitchenware were outdated. Do not except any luxury accommodation. 
- In our room shower was interesting experience for a 190 cm guy -> the shower room was probably 170 cm high... And probably also difficult to to keep clean for the very same reason. 

In overall with our room price (1000 krones per night) it was still worth of money but I  probably would not go back, I would rather take my chances with some other place.

Good location and worth of money - but pictures promising too much.

Burger was nice. Good fries and chipotle sauce. Good idea with kids buffe, all they could eat. But disappointed with having to get attention of the waiting staff all the time. Otherwise a nice meal. Nice outside area. Great sunset. Clean toilets.

Dinner

Tasted good - but the deer stew was not tender enough, while the cod was good. The waitress was sweet, lacked experience and simple do/do nots. The lighting was bad! Nice marine interieur and a splendid view.

Low average - or clearly a summer place in november 

Great location, and I have staid there three times over the last six years. However, it was never very well laid-out. Now it has fallen into disrepair and is rapidly reaching the level of 40 $ motel - at the price of a mid range hotel.

Falling

This place is ok as a single sleepover but not suitable for longer stays off-season. It is an absolutely deserted place in september. Pices however is still very high. If you want to pay a high price for seeview this is an ok place
