Nature Lanka Hotel

We stayed there for one night and it's great. The staff is super friendly and welcome us warmly. There were some confusions about the reservation but the manager solve it quickly before we arrived. Great facilities and the only thing missing is water heaters (water geysers) in the bathrooms otherwise it would be the perefect stay. If you could, you should try this place.

By the mid-1980s the world understood the impact and consequences of rainforest destruction. 1986 is the year Dehiattakandia, a new town, was carved out of the jungle, part of the massive Mahaweli irrigation and hydroelectric scheme. Along with this a large swath of agricultural land was cleared, to which poor landless Sinhalese peasants were brought for settlement in the dominantly Tamil Eastern Province of Sri Lanka. The social and environmental impacts were significant. You can see this for yourself by staying for a few nights at the Nature Lanka Hotel. It's an eye-opener. You will enjoy really excellent Sri Lankan meals prepared by the fine chef. Every night for dinner he will make you rice with different curries and for breakfast, a traditional Sri Lankan meal will get you going. The obliging and gentle manager will arrange bicycles for you to tour the countryside (the main roads are quiet and side roads, from which you see the most, are accessible and gently graded). He will happily get the tires filled or the seat adjusted. Nature Lanka is a new hotel and hosts banquets, weddings, and business meetings for locals. But you will be warmly welcomed as a guest to this interesting place. There is TV and all the amenities. If you have the time, you should see this corner of Sri Lanka.

Great place in a rural place

Carved out of the jungle

The hotel needs some improvement.. but this is the only decent recognizable place for lodging around Dehiattakandiya and Aralaganwila area...

Rooms are somewhat untidy.... bathrooms are not that clean.. 

We had dinner from the hotel which is considerable...

Our room AC machine was broken and we had to depend on Fans.. 

Staff is helpful but sometimes helpless..😂

DO NOT GO!!!!!! We stayed 28 days in Sri Lanka, spent countless nights in many many hotels/hostels/bed&breakfast with all kind of budget, but this one was really THE WORST NIGHT ever of our stay.
It's not a hotel! It's a nightclub! There was 50+ men dancing completely drunk, and the music was so loud that the walls and our bed was shaking! We couldn't sleep. It was a real nightmare and I can't believe this place call itself a hotel. It looks like the rooms are just there to host prostitutes for the drunk men.
Also, the rooms are quite expensive (especially if you can not sleep!), the mattrass is hard and there is no hot water.
Avoid this place by all costs. We wanted to leave as soon as we realise it was such an awful place, but there is no hotel around...
