We stayed for 5 nights with Sharmila. This is a stylish house with many interesting features. The location is out of the hubbub of Kandy so it’s peaceful and calm but Sharmila will arrange tuks, taxis etc at local prices. She organised a driver for us to visit Dambulla, Sigiriya, and a spice garden and we had a brilliant day. Our room was spacious and clean with a comfortable bed and always hot water for showers, and nothing was too much trouble for Sharmila. There’s a pretty balcony where you can eat. We asked for the cookery demonstration and the food which Sharmila produced was of an exceptional standard. Seriously if you’re interested in food as a cook or just in eating it, I don’t think you will ever have better Sri Lankan food. We were sorry to leave and can’t recommend this wonderful lady highly enough.
