Mangala Lodge

A great find up a quiet side-street with garden & large shaded terrace. Above all the owner, Mr Mangala, is incredibly warm, always cheerful while running the place solo. 
He cooks brilliantly so don’t miss out on the dinner & breakfast. The backdrop is his grandfathers amazing antique collection.
Room was spacious, clean, comfortable bed, with fan & fridge . A/c also available.

We had a really nice stay at Mangala Lodge, already one year ago. It was really nice! Mangala prepared the meals for us. It was delicious! He showed us how to make some coconut roti with a hand-made coconut scrapper. The children loved the place, they saw his turtle. He drove us with his father to the buddhist temple on the top of the hill that is overlooking the city for the sunset! it was the first time that we observed monkeys!! a lot of them were at the temple. Then he drove us at the lake where we had a nice walk! breakfast is great too! Thanks a lot Mangala!

We have stayed at Mangala Lodge for 2 days and we had a pleasant stay and the host was very friendly and helpful. This place is located in a convenient area and there are lot of things to explore.  The food was amazing & delicious. There are lot of antique collections in the place which will amaze you. We will surely recommend this place & will be visiting soon.

We stay at mangala guest more than a week with my 20 months old twins and mother in law while i visit my family in Kurunegala. Place was owesum and manager mangala is lovely person. Helped with us all da needs with babies and he was good with our babies. Rooms are clean and very good service. He cooked us couple of meals and breakfast they was excellent and hes a very good cook. U get very good service and clean rooms for price u pay. Hope to stay there next time im travelling to visit my family 

The owner, Mangala, tries very hard to run this guesthouse, and the rooms, although basic, are clean and comfortable, with mosquito nets over the beds.
You get a real taste of SriLankan hospitality at breakfast on the lovely verandah.

Value for money for transit or backpackers. Host is extremely helpful and a genuine person. Thats the best part. He keeps the place very clean as well.Breakfast was delicious and he gave us Jack Fruit and polos to eat on the way.

Room is clean and bathroom is also kept quite clean. Both face and towels were provided along with sops and shampoos. A relaxing atmosphere with a village type feel of the property. Highly recommend the place. Close to Kurunegala town with shops, restaurants located nearby. Ask the host, Mr Managala to recommend places where typical Sri Lankan cuisine is available and he is willing to take you there.
